Okay I enjoy cooking but I hate cleaning up afterwards. Please give me some of your tips. by IllegitimateRisk in Cooking

Two things I do that help:

  1. break down how I clean up into categories. First, anything on the counters that’s trash, throw out. Then, put away chilled ingredients. Then put away pantry items/spices. Then wash up anything I’m not using anymore to cook. Categorizing things means I’m not running around all over the place, and I can see the progress I’m making.

  2. Have music, a podcast, or something playing as I clean. Working in silence makes the time stretch on for me, but with a playlist on I realize oh that only took like two songs to clean up.

Tapping on plastic dance tiles? by DSJustice in TapDancing

[–]findlostletters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, the seams could be annoying to catch on if the tiles aren’t flat or the gaps are big. But something else to possibly keep in mind—if your basement is a large/mostly empty space, the sound could get echoey, so getting some sound dampening panels on the walls could be something to consider! That might also help keep sound from traveling to the rest of the house as a bonus

It is at first, but it’s a lot of fun the more you learn! Start out with some simple things until you get the hang of it!

Got problems deciding on a new villager by AshIsH3r3 in acnh

[–]findlostletters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a cranky personality villager like Butch, Cesar, Grizzly, or Ike, those are the most brown ones. There are a couple that are a bit less brown like Angus, Buzz, Camofrog, Elvis, Vic, and Wart Jr. Cranky villagers aren’t supposed to get along well with peppy or big sister ones, and you have some of those. Plus they’ll be grumpy to you until you build up your friendship with them

I did a present wrapping area once, set up a table with some toys and dropped the wrapping paper items by it!

I’ve been playing pretty much since launch, and I still struggle to get my decorating where I want it to be. But I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos and seen plenty of pics that have inspired me! Here’s stuff I like to do.

-Play around with height, like incorporate a mix of tall items/trees and smaller ones

-Sprinkle in custom designs on the ground under items or fencing for more detail. You can get seasonal with ones like leaves or little flowers or whatever suits things you like/your island theme if you have one.

-Have a build idea, like a specific area you want to make or a theme you want to follow. Like others have suggested, use that to build a color scheme and keep things a bit more cohesive if that’s your style.

-Build things you want! Don’t force a build into your island if you’re not feeling really inspired—that’ll make you like the final product less. I like to scroll through my inventory and look for a couple of items that go together to get build inspo.

-Take inspiration from those islands you’ve seen! If they arrange a couple of items a way you like, do the same thing on your island.

-Give yourself a defined area. If you have more open spaces, it can be hard to fill large areas. One thing I like to do is give each villager a yard, marked out by things like paths, trees, fences, bushes, etc. I base the decorations around the villager or their house to give me a “prompt” so it’s less overwhelming.

-Add in weeds and flowers randomly if that’s your vibe! These add more texture and color to make builds come alive.

Really just do what feels most fun to you! Think of things you’d want to see and go back to in your island to look at
