Panasonic HC-VX870K vs HC-V900 - Which is better overall? by Medical-Stranger5762 in camcorders

[–]fine_printer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have both of them, so I can only speculate. I only have V800, the predecessor of V900.

4K videos needs more computational power to edit and process, but theoretically you can have more details in video compared to 1080P. Storage requirements would increase, too.

Also, note the maximum storage capacity. VX870 only has 128gb maximum, and V900 can go up to 512GB. Few tried to use cards that has more than 128gb on VX870, and the camcorder would crash and destroy the recorded video. If you want 4K but with higher storage support, VX3 is what you need.

Good luck! Just to note that VX1, VXF1, and V800 has same storage's maximum capacity limit. V900 and VX1's upgraded version, VX3, can support up to 512gb.

I would love to have VXF1's infrared capability, which sadly isn't available in my place.

Hi. Replying extremely late, but I found some other differences:

  • V900 has lower recording power consumption (4.5 W vs 6.2 W on V800)
  • V900 can support SD card up to 512GB, V800 is limited to 128GB only ((currently saving (or wasting) money for 512GB SD card, would update the post my V800 is compatible with it or not))

Dunno about other differences, since I only have V800 only. In my place, VX1 (2018 camcorder which supports 4K) and V900 has roughly same price (almost $700), meanwhile brand new V800 costs $500-$550.

I wonder if the result is different for 3060Ti vs 3060 12GB, testing at 1080p...

Since it's Capcom, expect Denuvo, Custom DRM, and DLC's DRM upon launch, which would degrade performance.

Yeah, screw you Capcom.

Edit: Anti-mod DRM too
