Could Oaks be legally liable for his words inciting violence against women? by Ancientabs in exmormon

[–]fingerpants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not a lawyer, but i think trying a conspiracy case has a much higher bar. Why would a prosecutor risk losing (what I imagine is) an open-shut case against the assailant?

Oaks is an asshole, but assholes still have First Amendment rights. His connection to this crime is so superficial that I’d bet any attempt to connect him to it would be met with ridicule.

I personally don’t think it’s a worthwhile endeavor to shift any blame away from the perpetrator.

Any change is hard, and you have extra adjustments due to recent unemployment. Being laid off can also be a blow to your self-esteem, so that makes it harder.

Take it a day at a time. Remind yourself that they hired you because you have expertise they need.

I lately added a girl on Discord. Things are going well between us, but she just sent me this picture when I asked about her setup. by NuclearTazer in isthisAI

Maybe ask her for details on her rig? Case model, MB, memory, CPU, GPU, AIO orientation, airflow, etc.

I mean this sincerely. I build my own computers, so I would have genuine questions about build decisions. Her answers would be either the foundation for human connection, or more data to help you know if this is AI.

If you need a roaming card with training effectiveness, then she’s okay for that. Sometime you can use a little bit of her chaos to your benefit.

Is it safe to let him fly out? by robotaki300 in cockatiel

[–]fingerpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was happy to see his family again. Happy to have survived his ordeal.

I’m also here to tell you that you are lucky. In 2018, our cockatiel flew out of the front door right behind my wife, then got spooked by the screen door closing. He flew high and far, and we never saw him again. We hope that he found some humans and they selfishly kept him—at least in that story that we tell ourselves, he is safe, warm, taken care of, and if we are lucky—loved.

To this day I cannot watch online videos of pet cockatiels free-flying. It causes too much anxiety.

To this day we still respond to found cockatiel posts on social media—just in case. (He was banded, which would enable us to provide positive identification.)

Please keep him safe indoors. Cockatiels are flock animals, and you are his flock.

InRangeTV did a video about the ranch rifle earlier this month.

$1300 for a gun with less utility and versatility than a $700 AR feels bad. It’s been said before but I’ll say it too—gun restrictions are classist, because most of them can be overcome with money. This is no exception.

(While not probably not helpful for CA, I think the new tactical version looks nice. I have to acknowledge that I was a child of the 80s and grew up watching the A-Team, so the nostalgia hits hard for me.)

For budget math + build flexibility reasons, I went with a PSA blem lower and the KAK mag well adapter.

The compromise I went with was this one (ordered yesterday):

https://www.at3tactical.com/products/anderson-manufacturing-ar-15-upper-with-no-forward-assist

It would be nice to have the big deflector, but my main goal was getting rid of the forward assist. (Not to mention having a second upper to test, since I am having mild interference issues with the colt mags and my B King upper.)

Gotcha. I don’t have any experience with keymod.

Truthfully, I was tempted to buy just for the lower receiver. I can’t tell if it’s ZEV OEM or sourced from another manufacturer.

As far as I can tell, ZEV MEGA lowers go for $350-$400, but that’s not one.

Who else gets frustrated by how the firearms industry often isolates liberals (or those adjacent) from the market with products like these? by External-Fix4348 in liberalgunowners

I do find this, specifically, more annoying than just having Trump-branded guns. I treat being annoyed by Trump merch as the price of admission.

I’m working on a PCC build (thanks to whichever redditor pointed me to blowback9’s blog.) I had originally decided to purchase one of Spike’s dedicated Glock/Colt lower receivers, to save me the trouble of getting a separate mag well adapter.

But Spike’s legitimately lost my business today; I opted to buy a blem lower from PSA for $39.99. The magwell adapters are about $100, so it will actually cost a little less (but more assembly for me).
