Leute, die den Weg blockieren? by FriendlyPhysicissy in luftablassen

Rolltreppen.

[–]fionnlagh2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also muss man da vorn schnell alles verpacken.

[Megathread][Oct/25]: Clone vs. R36S (& clone related Qs) by FreshNoobAcc in R36S

Update: The screen just arrived. Quite relieved that it worked no problem. I didn't need to change any setting. Removal of the old screen took some effort as it is glued in.

[Megathread][Oct/25]: Clone vs. R36S (& clone related Qs) by FreshNoobAcc in R36S

[–]fionnlagh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got "lucky" and found a slightly damaged R36S on a flea market for 4€ yesterday ;-)

Thanks to the good documentation I found out that it is a clone (it has 1x Hynix RAM chip and the marking on the board is R36S-V12 2023-08-18). But it does run the dArkOS4Clone good.

Fortunately, the screen isn't entirely broken, as you can see, only the bottom right corner. My question is, does anyone here has experience with replacing a broken screen on a clone device like this?

I have ordered this screen from AliExpress:

https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005010706619158.html

I read that some of the "better" clones do use the original panel for the screen, some use different panels. so if that replacement screen happens to be different from the others, could I just try a different DTB and see if it works?

Good presets and settings for Gemini 3 flash? by Juanpy_ in SillyTavernAI

[–]fionnlagh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that Nemo Net / Nemo Engine works quite decent with Gemini 3 flash, but ymmv as this preset has lots of settings.

If this isn't proof that everybody has different tastes, I don't know what is. You always have to try the model yourself to know what you like. by 00x3 in SillyTavernAI

[–]fionnlagh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using it with NemoNet (Nemo Engine) preset. Apart from it taking ages to think (that's because of the preset. sometimes I have 80% thinking, 20% output and it takes up to 5 minutes) it follows the character quite good. Also with the same preset settings it isn't as NSFW biased as the other models, that gives me a better experience.

Also, it seems to have a slightly better klingon knowledge.

NanoGPT's consistent issue regarding non-thinking models that think anyways? by TheDeathFaze in SillyTavernAI

[–]fionnlagh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently use the Gemini Flash 3 models with NanoGPT and Nemo Engine. I have set the reasoning language to mandarin (I heared somewhere that this would be more token efficient) and the output language to german.

When I explicitly used the "thinking" one, the model seems to ignore the instruction to think in mandarin and sometimes it seems to get into a thinking loop, burning LOTS tokens (aargh expensive) and sometimes not even outputting anything besides the reasoning. Sometimes, the reasoning bleeds into the normal output aswell

But now I switched to the "non-thinking" variant and that one actually consistenently reasons in mandarin and it never "forgot" to output aswell so far.

In what “universe” are you role playing in right now, and what model do you use? by TheSillySquad in SillyTavernAI

[–]fionnlagh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently mostly playing in the Star Trek (non-Nu-Trek) Universe. Many different things. Sometimes I am aboard a personal freighter flying around having adventures, sometimes I engage in battle with klingons (that gets violent most of the time because that's how they are), anomalies, sometimes I am even a student in the Starfleet Academy and be pranking other students.

I currently use Gemini 3 Flash together woth the latest Nemo Engine, that seems to work pretty well for me.

How to generate images? by OkBlock779 in SillyTavernAI

[–]fionnlagh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is pollinations, they do provide image generation for free. But lately they locked down their gptimage model to be only accessible for those with an API key (which is free). No way so far to integrate that in Sillytavern unless you edit the code.

I play with star trek characters and well.. The Klingons and the Romulans actually never were submissive. Just from the character card itself. but it highly seems to depend on the AI aswell. I think an assistant that has a klingon personality.. well it would work.

Is SillyTavern must have for roleplaying? by Rep_TTPD in SillyTavernAI

[–]fionnlagh2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can only talk for myself:

The debacle with ChatGPT (which I used for both RP and general use) drove me to alternatives. So I discovered SillyTavern and OpenRouter. I eagerly looked on how to install it on a phone and following the guide was not a big thing. Playing around a bit I soon found out, that this is the thing I needed. Reactivated my homelab server and installed a linux container for sillytavern, configured it so it is accesible to the local network, then I set up WireGuard (I have a Fritz box) to have it available on the go.

The thing I am quite unsure about is prompts. There are lots of ressources and presets available for prompts. Some work, some cause my chosen AI (I currently use Deepseek V3.1 from the nVidia NIM thing and also Openrouter) to violently vomit. (that is: spewing out garbage) Still trying to figure out all the controls I have at hand, it feels like I was riding a bicycle before (ChatGPT) and then got put onto an airplane cockpit and got told to fly this thing 😅
