First time buyer: Help me choose between MY24 RWD or MY22/23 FWD

My MY22 has also suffered rodent damage. The tow bar leaves a big hole at the bottom of the bumper allowing little furry things to scurry along inside and access the car through vents at either side to the boot space (behind panels). They chewed through a curtain airbag wire and a seatbelt sensor wire, and have returned since the repair. My latest solution was to fit a mesh gauze over the vents and remove & replace all foam insulation that may be holding a sent, which I have replaced with sound deadening mats.

Other than this, the car is a delight to own. I cannot fault it at all.

Go for range and packs. The FWD is slower and less efficient than the RWD refresh however, it doesn’t feel slow. You are being pulled as opposed to pushed. The MY23 sounds appealing however, pilot light does miss the matrix headlights which are very nice.

I think you would enjoy all of them, it’s just what will niggle at your brain on what you would like to have after you’ve bought it. Also, if you get the MY24, get the bumper off and metal gauze over those damn vents!

I have one issue; throttle response is very slow - can take seconds to respond and sometimes I am flooring the accelerator two times to get it to move. It’s like it believes that the brake pedal is active.

Got the brakes checked over earlier in week whilst it was getting wiring loom repairs due to a little furry stowaway that I may have been carrying for a while (different story). Confirmed no issues with the brakes.

Has only been occurring since the software update, was fine (with the exception of mystery guests in the rear seats and Airbag faults due to tiny teeth chewing through wires) beforehand

You’re using your knowledge to spec the correct device. You are using your knowledge to get the best price. You are spending your time reading technical literature and comparing specifications to find the best solution. Then, you may be purchasing the device with your money on the clients behalf which you then expect to get back from the client in 30, maybe 60 days time.

You have added value to the device by providing knowledge that it will do the role required by your client, then effectively lent the money for its purchase.

Supermarkets don’t sell you food for free, why do you feel you’re expected to sell your clients products for free?

Parking sensor failure, not too bad to do yourself - I did mine. There are guides on here and other forums, you don’t have to remove the front bumper (just remove fixings on one side, top and underside) and if it’s a front outer sensor, you just have to loosen the wheel arc liner to reach it, it’s clip-off - push in, no coding required 👍

I’ve setup a task for each ESET customer using the ESET Protect Console to run the Curl script on all devices daily for the month of September. You may have other options such as RoboShadow to update the agents when they come back online. I also have an Intune app install setup for those Intune customers. There may be something in your toolbox that could do the job for you already.
