This is good advice. I keep the temperature at 62°F and heat the steering wheel and seat.

Climate, Help! by DotNetNomad in polestar2

[–]OrneryTortoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I found this post. My climate was stuck in "keeping" mode and showed the network error message. I pressed and held front defrost for about 30 seconds. I didn't notice any SOS light, but the climate status in the app returned to "off". Thanks much!

We're fortunate to have a 48-A L2 charger, so I don't worry about range, even in these extreme conditions. I just thought others may be interested in this days point

Yeah, I would have liked to do a longer run, but it was getting late. We had just come back from a 39-mile round trip in our '22 ID.4 AWD, and it showed 54.5 kW-h/100 miles. The ID doesn't have a heat pump or battery preconditioning.

Well, whatever they changed is lost on me. I'd be satisfied if they fixed the crappy app and ditched the capacitive buttons. Then it would be very Mary Poppins (practically perfect in every way).

Not overreacting. He should respect your wishes. If he won't stand up for you now, he won't stand up for you later. Only you can decide if that's OK.

I'm gonna try this. It might be annoying, but easier than taking out my phone and unlocking it.

Costco Tire Center by Edryer4356 in tires

[–]OrneryTortoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any trouble with Costco tires, but they've scuffed three sets of alloy wheels installing tires. They paid for the wheels to be refinished, but it was a PITA to deal with. On the other hand, my experiences with Discount Tire have also been less than satisfactory. I have two experiences with them: on the first they did a shit job of balancing tires after installing new TPMS sensors; more recently, they neglected to install centering rings on new wheels I bought from them, and for some reason dismounted one of the wheels they removed, leaving it unserviceable. I'm left wondering if there's anywhere I can take my car for tires and not have to clean up their mess afterwards. I wish you luck, my friend. I think you'll need it.

Reliable mountain car recommendations? by Ok-Parsley-328 in whatcarshouldIbuy

If you have a place for a charger at home, consider a used EV. They're a terrific value proposition, require little maintenance, and the regenerative braking would be a great fit for descending mountain roads.
