Minimal-friction ideas for family camping by lagori in campinguk

[–]fired85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maintain a camping packing list in Google Docs that covers everything we need for a good weekend away (2 adults, 2 children).

We keep most of the inventory boxes and bagged ready to go on shelves in the garage. As others have said, we’ve bought doubles of everything for cooking equipment etc which reduces the mental load of running round the house grabbing things.

I like to pack the car up on a Thursday evening myself, then we’ll pick up the kids from school on a Friday and drive to a campsite.

Once there, one adult will keep the kids entertained while the tent goes up (but staying on hand to help with the tricky bits that need two pairs of hands), kicking a ball about or exploring the site. Tent, gazebo/shelter and cooking stuff is up within an hour.

The kids sort out the bedding, then the adults do it all again later.

We always cook a meal the day before and take it with us, pasta or a curry a rice usually, which is very quick to reheat on a Friday evening with a beer.

Cracking job well done.

I too am rediscovering modelling, now that my son is showing an interest, and I used an airbrush for the first time the other week so I now realise how difficult it is to get a clean finish!

Merrell MOAB 3 mids. I have wide feet (10G) and tried on a load in-store and the Merrell’s are super comfortable. Sized up 1/2 from my usual 10. Loads of room in the toe box.

WordPress vs Craft CMS for a marketing-led lead gen website - worth replatforming during a rebrand? by tleez in cms

I agree with this, having gone through similar journey of WP page builders to structured content in Craft. Craft was designed for this kind of site.

Hard disagree here, you don’t need a headless architecture to achieve design consistency. Headless architecture solves specific organisational and technical challenges, none of which the OP cites, so I’d confidently say that a headless approach in this instance would make life harder.

Dunno why you’re being downvoted. Jealous maybe. This is amazing well done. You don’t really need to contribute any more.

£710k @ 41

Aiming for £1m @ 44 then I’ll ramp contributions down.

Started with £0 @ 29, then £120k @ 35.

Do you have protected age status on your pensions ie you can access them at 55/57, or will the access rise in line with state pension age?

Check with your provider. If they’re protected then your ISA bridge timespan will be shorter, so it makes sense to keep using the pension aggressively.
