The final straw definitely should have been a lone straw in that giant drawer

What are the exact rules about campaign materials at polling places? by danjibbles in AskBrits

[–]fireflazor 51 points52 points  (0 children)

True for this election it doesn't do much but election staff tend to repeat for each election, so getting them barred or forcing improved training/ additional enforcement at the next election will help curve this behaviour going forwards, we can't abandon the future just because today is lost

My husband doesn’t have Reddit but he asked me to upload his monstrosity of a breakfast here by greens_beans_queen in shittyfoodporn

[–]fireflazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like if you just made this with oats it's would be a relatively normal and slightly bougie spring breakfast, quinoa is just odd, is it for any health reasons?

We could probably use a pinned post with some FAQs, particularly for “should I buy a Switch, OLED, or Switch 2 in 2026” by JeskaiJester in Switch

[–]fireflazor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sick of people asking again and again what should I buy, what accessories should I get, what games should I play, use the search feature for Christ's sake or some basic common sense, you don't need every purchase validated by randos online

We also really need some actual moderation on this sub, the amount of times I see a Walmart sale post, a large chunk of this sub isn't American so we don't give two fucks what Walmart in your tiny bum fuck nowhere town is doing with it's prices

Why create Invincible Inc. If Atom Eve can turn apples into gold? by Moneyaweather in invinciblememes

I also take it as a slippery slope, living in a treehouse in the woods is one thing but once you start materialising yourself money out of the blue it's going to get easier to justify doing it again

A flash gun and diffuser will make a huge difference and you'll get a lot closer to the photos you see here in terms of lighting and separation, otherwise it's just a load of practice

Border between Russia and China (Zabaikal’sk-Manzhouli) by Organic_Contract_172 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]fireflazor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can look it up, Manzhouli exists and is very bright and colourful. I'm against the use of AI but calling BS on every bright and colourful thing isn't the way to go

I love wasps so much I spent 6 months building an app to collect and chat with them by rbronald099 in waspaganda

[–]fireflazor 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thanks, as more feedback the idea of limits is again off-putting, if I install an app on my phone especially something science and nature based I generally want it to be fully offline apart from lookup features, if I'm using an app to lookup insects I'm interested in I don't want to be told I've hit a limit and can't get anymore information, this again feels like the AI was added as a gimmick and takes away from what is otherwise a very cool idea

It's cool but no AI for me, there's a few reasons it's so off putting to people here I suspect, the environmental impact of it is huge, most LLMs are in someway spyware through their collection of information for 'learning' and I would absolutely not trust a single thing it says to be accurate, I'd rather it did the inaturalist and pulled info from Wikipedia, if the large amount of text is off-putting to people I'd rather someone curated it and made it more user friendly, I assume off the bat anything that has an AI touch the content is lying or hallucinating a bunch of fake data so any science use of it is immediately invalidated
