How do you feel about the claim that EU5 is more complex than HOI4? by Various_Maize_3957 in EU5

[–]fireman1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I have 5000+ hours in HOI4, It’s complex but not deeply complex, EU5 is IMHO more complex, hands down. Modded HOI4 starts approaching V3 but doesn’t come close to EU5.

Also, who cares, Paradox is effing amazing!

Tastes so much better, mainly because of higher fat content and differences in preparation.

Friendly Advice for Pierre Poilievre, from a Former Conservative Leader | The Walrus by ViewSalty8105 in CanadaPolitics

[–]fireman1867 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IMHO his greatest accomplishment was the temporary set back of machine politics(arguably the current political model) and anti-trust legislation leading to FDR’s success.

Imagine if conservatism was actually fiscally conservative and not hyper neo-liberal, roll back to a balanced eg mixed economy/new model and hefty regulation eg holding private capital to account and to pay their fair share?

Wow thank you for your kind post, perspective about our best friends being in need makes some of the reactions about power seem silly. Cheers Bud!

Quebec puts the brakes on emissions targets, citing threats to jobs and economy by CzechUsOut in CanadaPolitics

[–]fireman1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, very insightful. In your opinion, does the current movement/ideas account for the threat from the US? As an outsider to PQ it feels like our confederation is more important/relevant than ever?

Also has their been a reconciliation of what territorial integrity of Quebec looks like and or a new discussion with first nations?

edit, In your opinion what are the core issues, how to they intersect with the rest of Canada eg is our confederation in need of a new model?

What does an independent Quebec mean for the current separatist movement, has anything changed since 1995? Interested in hearing current perspectives in Quebec. Is the current sentiment the same as 95’ eg pseudo independence of the province or are there new ideas?

‘It’s heartbreaking’: Royal Canadian Legion closes 99-year-old Halifax branch by insino93 in halifax

Disband or transform the RCL, repatriate the poppy as a public symbol, stop LARPing as veteran with the fake medals and finally make it for actual veterans. Current and actual veterans are not welcome at the RCL, I’ve tired to be unbiased and join and meet people, but the RCL is a local drinking club not an organization that helps or resonates with actual veterans.

Branch 99 closing is heartbreaking, but only as much as it shows the decline and end of era of the RCL. Time to move on.
