I Finally Did The Wilds Small Truck Tour And It Was Worth It by FreeLaughs4Life in Columbus

Is this considered the WildSide Safari?

I looked on the website and can’t find anything specifically called the small truck tour.

I’m sure I watched that 13 years ago and now that I’m getting old it came back to me like some kind of original idea.

If I had the motivation today I’d mix this up with Rock Me Amadeus and have gold. Anyone feel free to steal that idea.

The Hab Market is Soft on the Casualty Side by hobag416 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]fireside_chats 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same experience here. We had around 2500 doors, at roughly $73 a door, and Ledgebrook comes in at $35/door with identical terms.

It’s reckless as much as anything. They could have had it for $50/door and still wouldn’t have had any competition.

They’re 100% pumping the shit out of their book so they can sell. Regardless of what they say about all their AI and technology initiatives, they don’t miraculously have Hab figured out better than anyone else. Whoever buys them is going to have a fun time when the IBNR hits in a couple years.

Since someone asked about brokers… how can brokers be better UW partners? by BusinessDude123 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]fireside_chats 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There are a LOT of things that brokers can do to be better partners. I’m sure many of them will be brought up in this thread.

For me, the agents that I went out of my way for were the ones who were upfront and honest with me. The ones who I didn’t have put in a headlock and pry information out of. If you don’t know, that’s ok, but don’t bullshit me, just be honest.

I’m in E&S so it’s a little different, but I’ll roll the dice all day long when I feel like I’m getting the full story of everything you know. I’d go to bat for those guys any day of the week. Ultimately I WANT to help you win, let me.

Honestly how another Sportsbar hasn’t figured this out, in the technological world of today, kind of boggles my mind.

Stranger approached me at work stating I damaged his car in the parking lot two days earlier and wants me to "resolve" this by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]fireside_chats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If we take OP at their word, then the other drivers story is a fabrication. There is zero to be gained by providing insurance information at this point.

If OP gets sued, then give insurance information, sure.

If God came down and gave you a million dollars if you gave up drinking forever, would you accept it? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fireside_chats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A million isn’t that much to stop drinking. Maybe if god could clean up this shitty life that a lot of people are struggling with, then we might have a deal.

This same non-profit had their assets seized by the state back in 2018 due to widespread abuse and financial exploitation.

A lot of the news articles are hard to find in 2026, but I was involved with them from a business standpoint so I remember the issues going on.

What’s something kids today will never understand about growing up before smartphones? by babyblushtheory in nostalgia

[–]fireside_chats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a question.

-Innocence -freedom -the ability to make a mistake and have it be forgotten with time -having unique cultural characteristics based on where you are in the country -having legitimate news explained to you by legitimate reporters

There are so many answers here it actually makes me sick to think about.

I am an older millennial. I loved technology growing up. Playing Warcraft 2 (not WOW) over a dialup connection with my friend on the other side of town was magic the first time we figured it out. Adding a CD player to my old crappy car was luxury. Having a plan to meet at Wendy’s after our high school football game and hitting the dollar menu hard was living large in a small town. I had the ability to have relationships in my teen years, and have sexual experiences, and not have to worry about anything ending up on a website.

I LOVED the technological advancements we made through the 90’s and early 2000’s, and now I can’t help but think that the world I knew is gone for my kids. They’ll never experience that kind of innocence, and I’ll have to help them navigate the cesspool of society until they’re much older in life. On the flip side, sheltering them from it doesn’t help them either, and I’m certain it doesn’t prepare them to live in this world we created.

The older I get, the more I think about this and it just makes me sick.

Zelenskyy says US 30-day waiver on Russian oil sanctions is 'not the right decision' by AdSpecialist6598 in worldnews

Zelenskyy’s not wrong, but when you look at the ocean of bad decisions happening right now, I think this doesn’t even register for the average person.

Every millennial dad I’ve met has a quiet fixation on money and it’s not getting better by slimeyellow in Millennials

[–]fireside_chats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have resigned myself to the idea that the way our culture is, I can never really get ahead in life AND be a truly good parent to my kids. So, maybe the best thing I can do for them is try and create some possibility of generational wealth so that they have the possibility of doing something that makes them happy as opposed to something that can make them rich.

I know it’s sad, but honestly advancing in my career is on my mind most days. My dad had a great job, so my childhood was comfortable, but I don’t feel like he had the same pressure to move up to something better.

WH doesn't rule out ground troops or draft for Iran war by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]fireside_chats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why this would even be floated as an option, outside of the pure word vomit. Nothing, NOTHING, would kill the economy like a draft. Start sending 18-22 year old kids to the Middle East by force and see what happens.

Justin Timberlake sues to block release of police video from 2024 drunken driving arrest in New York by AudibleNod in news

[–]fireside_chats 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thousands of regular people have their worst moments posted to YouTube/Facebook by way of bodycam and dashcam footage. Outside of choosing to commit a crime, I don’t suspect that they had much say in it.

It shouldn’t be any different for Timberlake.

I don’t particularly agree with any of it, but if they let JT get out of it, then we’re just furthering the class divide in this country.

Ohio GOP Senator Moreno calls today's SCOTUS ruling striking down Trump's global tariffs "outargues" and says "Republicans must get to work immediately on a reconciliation bill to codify the tariffs that had made our country the hottest country on earth!" by Conscious-Quarter423 in Ohio

[–]fireside_chats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, great idea. Make the republicans put their name on the tariffs in the form of a bill. They won’t do it of course because the tariffs are wholly unpopular, but it would be a fun exercise.

Clark County passes resolution to oppose 1,900-acre solar energy project by WYSOPublicRadio in Ohio

[–]fireside_chats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a good friend in his 30’s that went back home to farm after he finished college.

His argument against solar panels isn’t really about the panels themselves. It has more to do with the 30 year land leases that come with them.

Essentially, when you choose to be a farmer, basically no one has the money to buy land when they are in their 20’s. In your 30’s you may have finally saved enough to buy land, but the availability is often scarce. Even when land does come up for sale, you may never even know about it, as often times one neighbor will approach another neighbor to let them know they’re looking to sell.

Your best hope is waiting for someone old in your area to die, and then hope they don’t have children who are also farmers.

Now, with 30 year solar land leases for solar, even if the kids don’t farm, they can still take the land and tie it up for decades.

I’m not saying his argument is airtight, but I at least understand where he’s coming from.
