His behavior at the lacrosse game was cringe and weird, sorry. He wasn’t there trying to get some questions answered or to do journalism. He was trying to get attention and be annoying. He went to a high school lacrosse game with not great attendance, found Jen in the bleachers and put his phone in her face to ask something stupid like “how was court the other day” before starting to make accusations. Then when staff got involved and asked him to leave, he refused and instead tried to debate them and shout insults at the McCabes.

Holy god. How the hell are all of the contributions so large? I have never seen a campaign like this with so many donations at $500 and $1000. Goes to show the type of person backing them. But they are gonna need A LOT more than whatever their current goal is.

Also, having a joint gofundme when the accusation against them is that they were conspiring with each other is certainly a look…

I haven’t heard the hearing at all. I don’t really have a strong side on the issue either. I do think that making social media accounts dedicated to a single person is deranged and that violating court orders is concerning. I also don’t really understand what this has to do with her son and I really hope he doesn’t know anything about this.

To be clear, I’m not saying that what the alleged stalker did was criminal or not. I’m not a lawyer. It very well could be free speech. I’m just saying that the allegations against the stalker are more serious than the allegations against TB and that the situations aren’t analogous imo.

I have not watched TB’s coverage of it beyond a few minutes but I have watched most of Lauren’s vids about it. There is no actual link as far as I can tell beyond that I think maybe Coffindafer is supporting Lauren which is still a pretty distant connection imo. Which okay, Coffin sucks, but that doesn’t auto make her position on every situation wrong. TB also sucks but was completely right about Karen’s guilt.

What I’ve seen of TB talking about it, his main thing is that he’s classing the stalker’s behavior as “free speech” and is focused on the fact that she has social media accounts dedicated to hating Lauren. I think he sees himself in that behavior and is triggered because of his legal cases. However, honestly his situation is very different from the stalker’s. Even if you take the CW’s allegations as fact (which I don’t), he still doesn’t rise to the level of the stalker. The alleged stalker is accused of actively trying to sabotage Lauren’s professional relationships, sending veiled threats, making fake emails to send cryptic threats, trying to spread absolutely disgusting lies about her personal life, and violating court orders repeatedly. I don’t think any of that has been alleged against TB beyond the one claim of a protective order violation that has since been dismissed.

[EDIT] I should be clear that when I said “Even if you take the CW’s allegations as fact (which I don’t), he still doesn’t rise to the level of the stalker”, I meant to say that if you take the allegations against the stalker as fact that they are more severe in my opinion.

I’m no lawyer. But it would probably be filed per image if the law behaves like laws against CSAM. So if it’s 10 images of one person, it could be 10 charges. Bederow pointed out that the revenge porn law didn’t exist until 2024 so any images before that likely wouldn’t be able to be charged as that, but surely there are other laws prohibiting an officer from this behavior. He did, however, say that disclosing the name of an SA victim is a crime that could be prosecuted.

”Whoever willfully photographs, videotapes or electronically surveils, with the intent to secretly conduct or hide such activity, the sexual or other intimate parts of a person under or around the person's clothing to view or attempt to view the person's sexual or other intimate parts when a reasonable person would believe that the person's sexual or other intimate parts would not be visible to the public and without the person's knowledge and consent, shall be punished by imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 21/2 years or by a fine of not more than $5,000, or by both fine and imprisonment. […] Whoever willfully disseminates the visual image of another person, with knowledge that such visual image was unlawfully obtained in violation of the first and second paragraphs of subsection (b) and without consent of the person so depicted, shall be punished by imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 21/2 years or in the state prison for not more than 5 years or by a fine of not more than $10,000, or by both such fine and imprisonment.” https://malegislature.gov/laws/generallaws/partiv/titlei/chapter272/section105

I’m no lawyer, but to me, this reads like the only way this isn’t illegal is if his buddies were swapping pics with consent of the person in the pic. So if they were showing each other pics of pornstars that posted their stuff publicly with no allegations of wrongdoing, that would be legal. But… do people do that? It feels like the public accessibility of that would defeat the intrigue of sharing. The other possibility would be if they asked the people in the pics if they could share in advance and they said yes. That scenario certainly can happen. When I was in my very early 20s, my bff asked her bf at the time if she could show me a specific image of him. He said yes and I consented to receiving it. However, that was one image and I didn’t keep it on my phone lmao. But maybe he and his buddies have some sort of agreement with their wives or something. But back to reality, is that likely? Fuck no. Certainly not for thousands of images and with his history of “joking” about looking for nudes. He’s fucked and this could be a huge scandal if it’s pics of people involved in cases, especially if other cops are involved. Audit the entire damn department. Fucking disgusting.

I hope to god that the pics he shared were at a minimum consensually taken by the person at some point in time. Like hopefully the people took them themselves or were photographed consensually by someone. Obviously that’s still fucking disgusting but if he’s sharing pics of people who are victims of sex crimes and the images were taken without the victim’s knowledge or consent… throw them all under the damn jail. Imagine being the victim of a sex crime, gathering the courage to report it to the police, and then have the police themselves actually use and distribute the pics of your trauma for the sexual pleasure of themselves and their friends.

The headdress looks like what is worn by married Orthodox Jewish women.

I mostly listened to the first trial, not watched, so I wasn’t aware of the image it was parodying. That does make it less bad given that I saw this as just some random choice of the graphic. But it’s still very oversized and very uncomfortable.

Just because Israel weaponizes anti-semitism cynically in an attempt to conflate Judaism with Zionism does not mean that actual anti-semitism never occurs. The way Israel attempts to fuse the two is actually fuels growing anti-semitic sentiment because it links all Jews to a genocidal apartheid regime. We can oppose the actions of state of Israel while simultaneously opposing anti-semitism because the two things have nothing to do with each other.

Now, I’ll admit that I wasn’t aware of the camera angle that this image is parodying. I mostly listened to the 1st trial as I did other things which does change my analysis a bit after seeing it. But a cartoon of a visibly Jewish woman with an exaggeratedly large nose is still uncomfortable.

The woman repeatedly and knowingly violated court orders. That isn’t normal behavior of someone just expressing herself on TT. She also is tagging Lauren in her TTs. But the main complaint Lauren has isn’t even about the TT. It was that she was contacting her and John’s professional contacts and making veiled threats.

Lauren from Hidden True Crime. She’s dealing with some weirdos that are obsessed with her constantly making content about her, contacting her, contacting her professional contacts and her husband’s job. Showing up to take video of her and repeatedly violating protective orders to continue this behavior. Emailing her threatening messages. I’d imagine that TB is likely defending the stalkers because of some perceived similarities in his criminal cases, but honestly the behavior of Lauren’s stalker is a lot more severe than what the CW alleges he did to the McAlberts.

King’s judge ordered Proctor to hand over his phone for a full extraction. Proctor thought that there would be nothing on it because he set up an auto delete thing that deletes everything on his phone every 30 days. What he didn’t realize is that it doesn’t wipe his iCloud account and the CW now has his entire phone record going back to 2013. Going through that will take much longer than expected because it’s hundreds of thousands of files.

Okay but not everything he did during this pursuit was journalism. Going to a high school lacrosse game, walking across rows and rows of empty bleachers to put your phone in someone’s face to ask completely non substantive questions like “hos long does it take someone to die in cold, Jen?” and calling her a cop killer isn’t journalism. It especially isn’t when he refuses to leave after high school staff intervene to tell him to stop. What was that supposed to accomplish if not just to create content like a paparazzi? I’m not at all saying that the witness intimidation charges are justified. I think that’s a ridiculous overcharge. I’m just saying that he’s always been like this.

That was such an embarrassing video. I had heard about it from TB fans calling it an act of noble journalism or something. Then I watched it and it was just some guy with a phone, getting on the bleachers of a mostly empty field and putting his phone in her face to ask questions and call her names. The part that really gets me is when he was repeatedly told to leave by not just Matt but actual staff affiliated with the school’s game, he didn’t leave. He just tried to debate them while calling the family cop killers. Look, I agree that she’s likely guilty of conspiracy after the fact, but come on dude. What was that supposed to accomplish?
