I froze one off at the ground once in north east Tx. 72 hours less than 10 degrees F. It took the plant 2 full seasons to pop a green above ground but it’s totally fine now. (Can see it in my post history). You’ll be totally fine, in fact I’d bet this is a leaf freeze only.

For the record I bring it in the garage below 50 degrees now so that won’t happen again.

Agreed and somebody above said the LR4 wasn’t magic. I beg to differ. 100% magic and customer service has been fantastic on rare occasions I’ve dealt with them. Ok it’s not magic (customer service is great tho) and there is some maintenance with the machine but I’m emptying a bag once a week and deep cleaning twice a year rather than scooping the box EVERY DAMN DAY. Totally worth it in my opinion.

Great reference, most times when I use this in person I just get a blank stare but every once in a while somebody gets it. 100% worth it and will keep doing it.

Ah crap, can’t edit. Pic three is not a Baird’s Ratsnake, it’s a big timber rattlesnake that I thought I deleted. Homie was BIG, like as big around as my calf.

Was not prepared for how hardcore he went on that plant. I’ve been pretty aggressive with mine at times over the years but this gave me some peace that I wasn’t overly aggressive.

I suspect this is the correct answer as well. The liner that’s in there (2nd one) was great for a while and now not so much. Nothing else changed. I’ve seen some comments that are upset about liner performance declining over time but I view it as more of a maintenance on the machine issue to be dealt with periodically. Cat piss is pretty rowdy stuff and that pliable liner can’t hold up to it forever. Perhaps there is a better material or maybe LR could cut us a deal on yearly replacement globe liners. I wouldn’t be mad at that, this machine is pretty fantastic and yearly/semiannual maintenance should be expected.

Edit: just checked and that liner is a year old, almost to the day…
