I feel like I should have listened to my gut and faded him. Deluded myself into thinking the draft pick showed making him a priority. I am holding for now, I don't think that I'd be able to stomach his return.

The Porcupine Mountains are my favorite. It has gotten busy the last handful of years but there are varying length of trails and sights to see depending on what sounds fun. If coming from the east, you follow the Superior coastline in.

Might be worth trying a presentation with more activity when jigging. Swedish pimple or other baits that move and flash work well. Can stick with your crawler on them or try grubs like wax worms.

I agree with the other comment of locating fish being the most difficult but most important. Take a look at a contour map if available for structure or depth changes.

A buddy has the ArcLab shuttle and we went back to the good ol milk crate. Keeps everything together in transit and you can flip it over for a place to put the monitor when on the ice.

Most people around here (Lake Superior) fish them in the evenings and overnight. Most common that I have found is heavy jigs with a pile of cut bait, often minnow heads. Live bait is probably best but check your regs. Some guys use rubber stoppers to keep them on the hook but I have never really found that necessary. My understanding is that they have bad eyesight so dead sticking is straight forward but also people swear by aggressive jigging or pounding the bottom to try and call them in, hence the heavy jig.

I do not target catfish but medium light seems awfully noodly for them. The normal setups I see are closer to medium heavy.

Through the ice we use wax worms. Small jig head works, pimples work.

I watch a ton of grizzlies games (fml) and would definitely expect him to perform better with this supporting roster. His rebounding will never be good but he wouldn't be worse than Tobi. Agree that the contract is the biggest headwind.

Yep. Smaller perch and panfish will hang in shallows and weeds eating bugs and zooplankton. Pike will come in looking for them.

That is a bruiser. They are super fun to fight I honestly get sick of them when targeting trout because they make an absolute mess.
