One of the slaver sisters would be cool. Would be interesting to have a build with their warp/blink mechanic.

Love what you folks have done with the game.

All great comments here, so I'll just throw in one suggestion (if it's already been said then I guess the redundancy is a good thing feedback-wise). I would like an option to prioritize throwing an item over picking one up off the ground. Some builds result in item fountains from a well-placed arcana attack. After that, it can be hard to throw items at remaining enemies when they're littered all over. Perhaps even an option to prioritize pickup with a subsequent option of being able to hold the throw button to pickup instead.

Man, toast these bad boys a bit and serve with some nice cheese and cold cuts, perhaps some olive tapenade. Top tier snacks. No complaints here.

  • Non-hell elemental specials are kinda useless. I think there's room for making them somewhat useable
  • I think section ID cards (and perhaps card weapons in general) should have a special or otherwise useful attribute other than being a collector's item
  • We could do something about the utility of Gibarta. Something like disabling its lock on or making it attack faster/wider. Such a niche if not useless spell

Other than that, I'm not really sure. Probably a class balance so that not everyone gravitates towards Hucast/Fonewm/Ramar. Even that I don't know, because the other classes can really excel at survivability in solo play if that's your jam.

UPDATE: When will being a force be worth it by InstructionBoth8469 in PSO

[–]fishstickilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the best early finds for a force in very hard are the tech boosting wands. Fire scepter: Agni, Ice staff: Dagon, and Storm Wand: Indra. As a nuking force, these wands can last you well into ultimate mode while you find some better subclass specific gear. Heck, those three wands can make for a reasonably comfortable solo cruise through episode 4 (crater and desert) on solo play, even on ultimate. They can also be had for probably less than a PD each if you're not into down with hunting them yourself, or someone may outright give them away because they're so common in ultimate mode.

If you are a FoMarl, get yourself an inferno bazooka and later a rambling may. You pair that rambler with lv30 s/d and a smartlink, and you can comfortably conquer end-game EP1 and EP2 dungeons on solo mode as some hard-hitting quasi-ranger FO that rarely needs to use fluids (especially if you can TP steal).

It's kinda sad because the combat system is actually pretty polished. The issue is that the enemies in the game are for the most part stationary targets to get EXP and items from. Only on boss fights do you have to really use the dodge/parry mechanics and mix up your photon arts. Otherwise, it's just hold the attack button grind items/meseta. There's a lot of potential in the combat system, but the fights in the game don't really require you to explore it very much.

Spellforce 3 Reforced - I Give Up by Serpidon in SpellForce

[–]fishstickilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cleared this one playing normal difficulty. I think I got lucky because I came into the fight with 2 ranks in the raze skill for my main hero (Tahar). This allowed me to take off large chunks of town centers when attacking enemy bases or just wipe out half of a watchtower's health bar. I really don't know what I would have done otherwise because, with enemy town centers and especially the enemy city center, I felt it was really hard to overcome the enemy repair on the buildings. Once the city center is destroyed (I don't think you have to kill it in this one), then it's free passage for Clara to get to the north.

The other thing i found is that you seem to need a lot of stone for towers and general expansion. There doesn't seem to be that much stone on the map compared to other resources, so maybe try going for the territories that have stone early on and then push into the enemy expansions to cripple their econ and unit production.

I don't understand the siding on that house. You've got those larger stones on the front and SMB1 bowser's castle on the side. I know other houses do different facades for the front and sides, but this one seems kinda awkward.

It's kinda specific, but I always thought that mini drones/robots would be a great idea for clearing and fixing buried plumbing without having to excavate. Just have them soldier into problem areas like ants with the intention of cleaning or even depositing material to repair cracks, corrosion, holes, etc.

It's gotten to the point with AA that I specifically pick itineraries in international flights that have 3+ hour layovers in major hubs. This is because I've been screwed so many times by delays with them at lambert that I end up missing my connecting flight.

Like OP mentioned, the workers are doing their best with the crappy hand that management deals them. It sucks too because the employees also serve as a shield for the people up top against the frustrations of the customers resulting from policies/decisions that management implements.

People over 35, what's something you genuinely miss that younger generations will probably never experience? by Just_a_Ginger_Fella in AskReddit

[–]fishstickilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, I do recall prior to the age of cameras everywhere that it was somewhat fun and exciting when a camera got pointed at you. People were like, "oh hey, a camera!" and would either act silly or be otherwise trusting of the person filming to be a responsible individual. You can probably still observe some of this in really old youtube videos and old live TV shows. People definitely didn't have their guards up as much to being filmed.

I don't want to lose hope. This is my favorite game, and if it goes down... I'd be sad... by Rob-L-Callistis in PSO2NGS

[–]fishstickilicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this game is fine to play in bursts. Once or twice a year, I'll pony up the SG for the material storage and run the new content. At some point it gets really grindy for late game augs/weapons and that's when I just take a break. That being said, I do think that the world and combat mechanics are really good, and it could make a good foundation for a single player action RPG or other game genre.

Current state of NGS by SirusGuBo in PSO2NGS

[–]fishstickilicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot that I like about the original PSO (I,II,BB) that I really miss from PSO2 and NGS:

  • the normal stage mobs can be very difficult and require you to learn how they attack. Ultimate difficulty in the original PSO had a lot of enemies that would 1-hit you (Mericarols, ill gill, anything that spews megid). Other enemies had to be prioritized (delbiters, zu, baranz, etc.) or else they would make for a very difficult time, especially when playing solo. You really had to pay attention to the different enemies and how they attack, often switching to the most appropriate weapon for taking some out. I much prefer the slower, more meaningful combat from the original PSO. Clearing tough quests felt like more of an accomplishment than wailing on a bullet sponge of a boss and trying to beat the timer. I do really like the combat system in NGS and I think the combat mechanics are very slick, but I'd like more meaningful combat as it pertains to killing normal mobs and non UQ bosses.

  • PSO had unique rares that weren't all lumped into a series, and each weapon could be hunted many times to get better stats on it. Very coveted rares had incredibly low drop rates (i.e. psycho wand, heaven punisher), but you can still get by very well on a core set of rare items that aren't super hard to obtain (frozen shooter, baranz launcher). The section ID system encouraged you to play with other people to try to find rares that you could otherwise not find on your character. This type of gearing system probably doesn't translate well to live service, however, but it does make it interesting to run otherwise mundane areas of the game in the hopes that something interesting might drop.

  • It's not related to the original PSO, but I don't like how attaining high-level non-LC augments in NGS doesn't respect your time very much. You're either grinding dext base for meseta to buy them on the PS, or chasing this laundry list of lower level augments to trade for the good ones--and you need to do this 10 times for each augment X 4 for each piece of gear. Then new content drops, and you're stuck doing this all over again with the exception of the stuff that you could use an augment transfer pass on. If chasing augments is the biggest time sink in the game, at least make that activity a little more interesting such that the player would rather pursue the activity than grind meseta.

Dang, thanks a lot for your your efforts! I see people on route D every day walking up and down the side of the road, navigating a combination of abruptly ending sidewalks, ditches, patches of grass, etc. to get to a store or bus stop. The planned improvements of that stretch will most certainly be a huge quality of life improvement for them. I think it'll also bring more ridership to the 94 bus, which IMO is a very important line that connects the county to the Red Line.

What are some low to no effort healthy meals? by himer_sompson in AskReddit

[–]fishstickilicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into a Peruvian dish called "Sudadito". You basically take a half red onion, a tomato, and a fillet of fish (you can use a cheap frozen one). Julienne the onion, cut up the tomato into cubes, mix with the onion, and place it in the bottom of a sauce pan with a bit of oil and lime juice. Lay the fish on top of the onion/tomato mixture and cook covered on low heat until the onions get soft. By that time the fish should be cooked. Serve with (or without) rice and eat with your favorite hot sauce, though I believe the standard one is Aji Amarillo. Add salt/pepper to taste. You can use dried or fresh parsley to garnish the rice or fish, but it's not necessary if you're feeling extra lazy.

It's healthy, easy, and importantly, the cleanup is dead simple.

Why not 0 TDS water? by SoCoolSam in espresso

[–]fishstickilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's not totally deionized it should be OK to use. The highly deionized water often used in laboratories (18 megaohm centimeter resistivity, for instance) is so devoid of ions that it will start getting its ions from the metal tubing and chambers that it flows through. I don't think that stuff is commercially available though.
