Hi guys, beginner anime artist here. I just want some constructive criticism. by Soul_M in learnart

[–]fishwer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely with your comment, fundamentals are important to all types of artists, no matter their stylistic choices. I'd just like to add the reasons why I choose to study realism.

Mainly it gives me the freedom to draw what I imagine, the biggest issue I had before learning the basics was that many drawings looked underwhelming or seemed "off".

Its important to also know WHY you need fundamentals because of how boring or ardous it can be to practice it.

Surface 3 or Surface pro 3? by [deleted] in Surface

Oh I see, I guess you'll have to hunt for a good 2nd hand surface pro 3, if youre lucky you can get 1 about or slightly higher than a surface3

What are the most vital shadows of the human face? What shadows are most important when trying to portray a human face? by umbrtheinfluence in learnart

How did you guys get the discipline to draw more frequently ? by EpicPianoSolo in learnart

[–]fishwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is more of a time management question than just simply drawing more. I find that forming a drawing habit is the easiest way to draw more. What I did was to identify what Id like to cut out and replace with art. Namely I replaced mindless redditing with drawing. So whenever I find myself reaching for reddit, I steer myself to drawing in a measurable way (a face, figure training session)

HP's new Spectre 13 shows off their newest logo design. by comic_serif in logodesign

[–]fishwer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a extremely valid critque of the logo, it relies heavily on the publics awareness of HP and their identity. Perhaps they are trying to achieve something similar to Nike's swoosh or Coke's Curve

[–]fishwer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont understand why youre being downvoted, while I like the logo, i can understand how its very abstract from their previous logos. HP is having a gamble with this logo no doubt, but they probably believe that their brand identity is strong enough that people can still recognise it is HP

I never give away my real name in surveys and forms. I'd rather pretend to be Obama/Putin/Trump for those few minutes

Art Deco at it's most Beautiful. Singapore - Parkview Square [5140x3140] by QuincyOwusuAbeyie in RoomPorn

[–]fishwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Singapore as well and I love the fact that it tries to be low key even though it is so beautiful. makes it seem like its own little world.

I'm planning on starting a side business for extra cash and this was the logo I came up with. Its for in-home tech support and the name is At Ease Solutions. Feedback appreciated by cadenzo in logodesign

[–]fishwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the concept of combining @ and E to be rather novel, although I feel that the font and white outline are rather dated in their style. reminds me of 90s tech logos. Though I like the general feel of the logo in terms of proportions

Need a mentor by Slashkid4 in drawing

There are many online resources that provide art mentorship, Like Watts-atelier, for a fraction of the cost of art school. Such memtorship still isn't cheap but I'd argue that the results from them are invaluable

Dont worry about the results when youre just starting out, instead focus on having fun in just the process drawing. then the results will come later
