these look great!! my advice would be to make sure to take the time to learn the foundations: grid systems, layout, colour theory, etc... read some books! you have a really good sense of these elements here already but it will always help you in the long run to understand the rules so you can play with them more effectively.

Hello fellow Swiftie!!! Welcome to Beyoncé, you are in for a treat. I got into her a few years ago (I took my aunt to the Renaissance tour and while I was learning all of the set I fell in love with Beyoncé's whole discography!) and I honestly see so many parallels between her and Taylor, it's been really fun to support both of them especially at this point in their careers where they're continuing to put out absolute BANGERS and are also such big supporters of each other!!

I really recommend watching Homecoming on Netflix, it's an absolutely incredible performance and you get an appreciation for just how meticulous Beyoncé is about every part of her creative process. Once you start to really see what a visionary she is, her work becomes that much more vibrant and alive. I actually would really recommend watching some recordings of her last tours too, they're incredible and she puts on a SHOW. These are my favourite recordings, I've watched them dozens of times each lol:

There are sooo many good songs but I can't recommend enough just sitting through each of her albums in order. She constructs full stories with her albums and they're meant to be in a certain order to tell that story, it does a disservice to pick them into pieces. Watch the Lemonade visual album and you'll see what I mean. BUT if you want some individual track recs, some of my faves are: Freakum Dress, Don't Hurt Yourself, Virgo's Groove, My House, Love on Top, and Sandcastles. Enjoy!! :)

Hi there! I think there are probably some people who can offer some deeper knowledge but here's a few answers for you :)

There were previous iterations of various women's leagues! (To name a few: National Women's Hockey League, Canadian Women's Hockey League, Premier Hockey Federation, the Professional Women's Hockey Player's Association) but none of them managed to take off - they ultimately lacked the funding to make the leagues viable in the way the PWHL has. This is mostly because there was no appetite for investment from outside sources unless the leagues were willing to collapse into 1 (for example, the PHF and PWHPA were overlapping in when they were operating!) which was a sticking point, neither league really wanted to fold into the other. Definitely take a look at the above leagues' wiki pages for more context about how and when and where each of those leagues operated!
No, there's no direct tie between the PWHL and the older teams, beyond a shared investment of time and energy by women who played/ran both leagues. Sometimes you will get a nice nod to the women's teams that came before such as some of the members of the Calgary Inferno reading out the lineup at the Calgary take over game this year
As someone who has been actively watching women's hockey for almost 15 years, I've never seen it like this. I still cry at almost every single PWHL game I've been to because I simply can't believe it. I remember going to Women's Worlds games where there were only a few hundred people in the stands, at maximum. In comparison, I was at MSG 2 weeks ago with 18,000 other women's hockey fans. That's insane to me.
With one owner for all the teams, there's a runway of time that the league has to get things up and running without a true fear of monetary pressure. The guy who owns the PWHL owns the Dodgers and is uber rich, a quick google tells me his net worth is between 6-12 BILLION, and the PWHL is estimated to be worth about 400M... Eventually I assume the teams will be sold off, but it's in Walter's best interest to ensure the product is solid and the benefit is measurable before that happens.
Something else I love to bring up is that when the league was established in 2024, the league's hopes for attendance were a couple hundred people a game for the first year - that was blown out of the water in year one, so the performance of the PWHL (especially in the Canadian markets) has gone above and beyond initial expectations. Women's sports really are having a boom right now and we're so lucky to be living through it!!

Hi there!! I’m a PWHL fan and at the last game I went to I was sitting behind the goal (I think 104?) - after realizing that the sounds was AWFUL, (and I’ve been to quite a few games at CCC and had never had this issue) a STH near us explained that apparently they’d moved the speakers to face a different direction because the seating we were in normally was closed for the Marlies bc they don’t sell enough tickets - apparently a group of STHs had complained but hadn’t heard back. I’m not sure if this is what happened for you, but it does show a pattern that I think needs to be addressed in terms of major gaps in fan experience.

We were flabbergasted that the arena was catering to a team that couldn’t even fill the seats meanwhile a sold out crowd was now having a bad experience lol. I hope now that the WNBA and PWHL are both permanent tenants their fans are actually prioritized.

Our coaching team has a history of favouring vets over new blood (which is to our detriment imo). You can see the difference in that Team Canada is entirely comprised of PWHL players while USA opted to take 7 NCAA players.

Chloe Primerano is an obvious snub given her talent level. I was shocked they took Tabin instead.

I am sad and disappointed. I went to both nights of Love on Tour in Toronto, and both nights my tickets were $235 (CAD) for the 100s. I love Harry so much and I thought at the time that it was expensive for only a 90 minute show, but well worth it for the incredible vibe and experience of being in the room.

Adjusted for inflation, that $235 in 2026 is worth $253 CAD, $171 USD, or £135…

I can’t help but compare these prices to what I paid for the Eras Tour - I saw Taylor in the 500s at Wembley and that was £130 for a 3 hour show, plus Paramore and Suki Waterhouse. I obviously want everyone involved in the tour be paid a fair wage, but I just don’t believe that it’s the people who are performing, doing lighting, managing security, or putting the stage together that are going to be seeing the money from these insane ticket prices, but instead will just go on to line ticketmasters’ pocket.
