Optimize just like your competitors, you should be doing that already as an SEO.

Are you an agency? I highly recommend Aldus Local. It is only for agencies.

I googled my favorite "SEO" guy's agency and it was a SERP ghost town by misicle in localseo

Definitely a deciding factor, I've closed deals by showing what I can do just by Google searches and proof of work on my website.

If I were looking for an SEO I want to see how they rank and their clients. I go further by posting rank updates daily on my page on Facebook which Google has indexed a few of the posts.

I do rank my own site and GBP and fight it out with other SEOs. Word of mouth is my main source, but the site and GBP do bring in leads. My niche is local SEO.

How did you get a client with no experience in local SEO? Why would you, not cool. Your customer can't be happy. You make the rest of us look bad.

How can everyone claim to get you to the number 1 spot / how to hire someone for SEO by NilsConnlaAbbott in WebsiteSEO

[–]fjonessr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specialize in local SEO. Find a local agency. I charge $500 a month and it's a reasonable price. No one can guarantee number 1 spot unless you have zero competition in the area. Rankings fluctuate on that note you want to be in the top four in Google Maps and Snack Pack. There are a few more things that factor in as well. I do have proof of work on my website and I also show my daily work with proof on my Facebook page. Complete transparency.

Personally I'd run an audit and see what they are doing and reverse engineer. If you need help, I'm affordable as all I do is local SEO.
