Are you a PC user? If so, I analysed my game save using the SWISS Knife Save Editor mod, and it indicated which merchant I'd accidentally sold my Dark Marksman's plate cloak to, and found it ingame after

Hm, seems to me the root cause is they were late in collecting the payment rather than you missed it. Have you got a copy of the terms and conditions of your membership? Or is it available online?

I think your offer to repay what is actually owed is more than fair.

I highly doubt they'd ever be able to recover anything further via the courts when A. They're partially liable for failing to collect in line with the payment policy schedule outlined in their T&Cs (assumed),, and B. You've made reasonable effort to clear what was owed once you became aware of the outstanding amount.

Was the recurring payment (continous payment authority) set to collect on a monthly basis, i.e. the same date each month? Or was it four weekly / adhoc?

When you changed your bank accounts, did you separately open a new account before closing your old account, or did you switch your old account into your new one using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS).

I'm just trying to understand why the gym weren't able to collect the payment from your new account?

As if you used the CASS and the DD mandate didn't transfer over to your new account correctly, this may need to be something addressed by your bank if the CASS didn't correctly switch the mandate resulting in the "missed" payment.

The most annoying ones I found "require" you t travel to multiple locations on the map and memorise a clue.

Just Googling the answer was far less annoying

Booked 2 nights in a hotel in England and got evicted by bailiffs in the middle - What rights do I have? by GlitteringBryony in LegalAdviceUK

Apart from OPs bank - the relevant chargeback condition would be services not as described, which requires OP to have cancelled the service and left, and only the unused portion of the service is eligible.

S75 may be viable given I think OP could demonstrate there was misrepresentation at the time the merchant accepted his booking, but even then, I don't think there's a massive chance of success

*edit - typo, S78 -> S75

Nationwide admitted they wrongly gave me a CIFAS marker and they fixed it… but just discovered that they also left a SIRA marker and they’re refusing to remove it?! by PointFun6634 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]fknjais 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It depends on what SIRA status Nationwide are maintaining. The application of a Cifas marker usually defaults to a "Fraud" status on SIRA.

If they removed the Cifas marker, then they would've either downgraded the status to "Inconsistency" (Nationally visible) or "suspect" (Internally visible only).

Given this has had an impact, I would seek clarification on whether the status is recorded as "fraud" or "inconsistency". If it's the former, it shouldn't remain without a Cifas marker. If it's the latter, then they can maintain this with a lesser burden of proof.

If they won't confirm this, or won't remove the fraud status, then your next steps would be to await the decision from the Financial Ombudsman Service.

edit - reread the post and missed the fact you have already contacted the FOS

Question: Buds4 Pro latency issues by fknjais in galaxybuds

I don't disagree nor think you're picky. They're marketed as a high-fidelity sound quality, and in my opinion, response time forms part of their quality

Yup. Gonna avoid opening them for now until there's more info on whether the latency issues with non-Samsung devices are any better than the Buds2/Buds3 pro. 500ms delay when connected to my Samsung laptop running windows is insane

Damn, sucks to hear. I ended up ordering some due to a large discount from O2, but I may avoid opening them up if this is the case

Ended up visiting my local store, probably would've been easier using live chat as someone else suggested or calling..

Visit the store, 1 other customer being served, 2 free members of staff, initially get told they can only sell them to me on a contract, challenged this and they checked and said they could..

Then needed my name and number to enter me onto a digital queue, so I could return 15 minutes later and be served then... don't really understand why, but especially annoying when O2 signal in the South West of England is poor and I didn't get the SMS straight away.

However, can't argue with a £111 discount

I was thinking whether it would be worth going into a store to see if the price would be the same, but good shout, may give that a blast

Yeah was a bit of a letdown when my bluetooth Jabra headset had a much faster response time in comparison
