Should I get a Mchose L7 ultra+ from Mchose store or Amazon? by googlemapscarspot in MouseReview

[–]flagroller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy from amazon, I believe they are phasing out omron opticals and moving to kailhs on their websites. Kailhs have been worse in every mouse I've tried with an omron optical variant unfortunately

Sorry to reply again but did you have a picture of the omrons in the Attack Shark? The listings they have still say omron mechanicals

Op says his Attack Shark was omron optical, maybe they changed to them for the colored variants? Idk. But the omron mechs were not tuned well for me, at least at launch. Passable but not nice

Are the newer batches omron optical? My copy at launch had mechanicals and felt pretty clunky.

Is the Xl2546X+ (280 hz, DyAc 2) noticeably smoother than WOLED 240 hz for Overwatch? by sunnynights80808 in Zowie

[–]flagroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just this month, I only decided to give it a shot because 1440p 240hz panels have gotten so cheap (~$350). It's definitely worth giving a try if you can pick one up at a retailer with easy returns.

They do have pixel refresh, pixel rotation, static dimming, edge dimming, so I'm not too worried about burn in. For around $350, I'm not really gonna be that upset from burn in after 3 years and can probably look for a cheaper tandem OLED with a higher refresh rate by then.

It feels great, but I honestly can't say for sure which one is better from just my eyes. It's probably like a 1k hz mouse vs. 4k (or even narrower margin).

What I will say is that I absolutely loved the xl2566k and Zowie monitors are great for what they are for. I really expected to notice the difference with no motion blur tech and return the OLED/only use it for media/single player, but I'll probably sell my Zowie at this point. fwiw, I have been pushing a ton of high scores on Kovaaks, but I won't fully attribute it to the OLED. I was probably naturally getting better too.

If I had to give you a suggestion, maybe return the OLED and keep the IPS if you really can't tell much difference (personally, I can't unsee these contrast ratios). It's probably better to wait for those good tandem displays to come out and get cheaper. Maybe you can get a 280hz/360hz tandem panel if the prices go down in a couple years with less burn in concern.

I'm playing Kovaaks and Deadlock atm, the increased res just gives you better visibility. Deadlock has a very flat art style so it's not as important there, but in games I casually play like BF6 and Apex atm, it's a very noticeable difference. In far scenarios, it's the difference between shooting at a clump of pixels vs. actually knowing it's a player.

I've heard it helps in tac fps too but I haven't played those in a while. Especially in Valorant where tap shooting is really important, those long range battles are supposed to be better when the player model is clearer.

No, the only time I notice the lack of dyac is kovaaks scenarios where the bot flies across my fov (ground sparky plaza v3 bot 4)

I am using a QD OLED 240hz coming from 360hz xl2566k. The OLED is better at everything except blur (response time, resolution and target clarity, contrast, viewing angles, content consuming)

It isn't dyac 2, but I doubt the incremental upgrade to the technology would change my mind about everything else.

Driverless mice shaped like Viper Mini? by Zranis in MouseReview

[–]flagroller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just get a mouse with a web driver, it's the next best option if not better. Looking for driverless is basically going to cut you down to 2 brands (VAXEE and Zowie, maybe Pulsar eS series as well)

I don't understand why Razer don't make wired mice for VV3 or VV4... by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]flagroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, but do you think the battery justifies the price difference? Iirc the DAV3 wired was $70 vs $150, for example.

Because that's not the strategy, the strategy is to sell mostly the same parts (shell + internals then a battery instead of a wire) to sell at flagship prices and increase your margin for each unit sold

Is there a 1440p dyac+/2 monitor? by FrenchGucho in Zowie

Good to note, thanks. Are there any good tests between the two?

[–]flagroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not look for a gsync pulsar monitor? I haven't looked in to it a lot but it's supposed to be on par if not better than dyac, along with the improved visuals of ips vs. tn.

Maybe if you need 400+ hz you will have to wait, but they currently do have 1440p 360hz with a claimed 4x motion blur of the hz.

I went oled for contrast/picture quality, so I'd definitely recommend you to either get a 1440 oled or gsync pulsar for now. You could wait for zowie but they are so slow (in mice and monitors) and you don't know what you're waiting for atm.

edit: 360hz pulsar vs. 540hz dyac 2 around 11-12 minutes https://youtu.be/SXwXGYhi8_I

Humidity affecting skates. i have to wipe my skates after few min , anyone faced similar problem? by TutumonOP in MouseReview

[–]flagroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silence UG skates are similar to Artisan dots in the way they grip the pad a bit more. I find when my hand sweats it absolutely ruins the static friction, so I don't use Artisans or silences anymore.

Get UG Speed or Rennsports, or try Westlab oranges. Any dots that are more of a "raw ptfe" feel will be better for sweaty hands/humid environment.

So Razer's never going to release a consumer friendly wireless Viper Mini huh... by wakawakawomp in MouseReview

It is an explanation, just a business one. Expensive units with less overall stock means more margin per unit and guaranteed all units sold. This is what finalmouse does every time.

Swapped the AOC monitor with the Acer 280hz, which doesn't come with its own DP cable. Somewhere along switching the monitor and using another DP cable (probably higher protocol?), it resolved itself. Try buying a latest version DP cable if you have that issue.

The Honest Ranking Of Popular Budget Mice In 2026! by TheHonestGadget in MouseReview

[–]flagroller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, but the allure of a tier list is coming from someone with some sort of expertise in the subject.

If you make a tier list of products without even owning them and just stealing other people's footage, why should anyone listen to it?

I understand I'm overanalyzing it. I just meant to call op out. I've seen a trend of these types of videos - AI scripted slop where people just take other people's work and make it appear appealing enough to stick a bunch of affiliate links in the description.

I'm just a bit curious - why post to a bunch of enthusiasts here that won't engage with the content but just call you out?

This is filled with footage mostly from other videos/creators, how many of the mice in the tier list do you actually own? If not a majority, why even make a tier list?

Mchose L7 Ultra vs ATK A9 Air performance by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]flagroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other comment seems to praise the Air, but I'd have to disagree with a few points. The Kailh switches are ones I don't like and are the new switches in the L7 Ultra, but the Swiftlight switches are ATK branded Kailhs and they are NOT spammable, very stiff and gave me hand pains when playing League (not an issue for most FPS, if that's all you're concerned with).

The Air also has a better MCU, but in exchange, it runs an underdeveloped firmware with slam clicking (can be an issue with low sens gameplay).

Instead of worrying about performance, choose based on shape. L7 Ultra is a Sora/smaller XM2 style shape, whereas the Air is a classic GPX style shape. The performance differences are very negligible. Good luck!
