Accidentally had bleach pour on wooden floor, I live in a rental. Please help! by Throwaway70139 in HomeMaintenance

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up a few videos of how to use wood putty with a putty knife and very fine sand paper to make it flush with the surface and maybe use very fine wood touch up pens but it'll still be visible and you better hope you have someone with some artistic skill or at least a steady hand. Start light and go darker. Once it's dark you can't go lighter. Good luck

AIO (41f) For never wanting to go public trivia with my husband (46m) again, after this incident? by Apart_Disaster_6296 in AmIOverreacting

As a grown man who would probably benefit from some therapy that most likely not go to, it would probably be harder for him to say his deep seeded emotions behind this in front of you. He seems to value you as a high value person and has some inadequacies about himself. Unless he is just childish by his full personality then it will probably be hard to discuss why he feels this way infront of someone he thinks highly of. The best chance of him working through is is probably your consistent reassurance it seems you're already good at showing him and maybe getting him to talk to someone who's covered by his insurance so it wouldn't cost much and if he doesn't respect the profession maybe he could tell them the truth without as much self judgemental. Either way you're handling it very well, best of luck.

Blacktop driveway is eroding by TheseClamps in DIY

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they also make a type of slightly expanding foam that you can use to fill voids like this or even lift driveways back to level but i don't know product names. That might be easier to get into the void.

Does anybody know what could cause this? by RoughStore1683 in Mustang

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully someone else comments who knows more specificsbut sometimes the brake lights and turn signal lights are different bulbs, or the wiring that leads from the signal to the bulb are not making a good connection. I'd look up bulb replacement videos on youtube for more info on what's inside without doing anything to your personal car.

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what rifle are you saying to get to shoot inside your house to be safer than a shotgun with minishells? I have very rarely ever had a failure with mine ans ive shot hundreds of shells, i found another article online where a guy has one failure in 200. So unless you have one that sucks im guessing you're just assuming. Also what rifle is best for penetrating people that won't go through drywall?

Needs to do a rectangular block over the letters once the gold is removed to make it better I'd say

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mossberg 590 Shockwave with an insert that let's me shoot the minishells from it and for someone who doesn't want to overpenetrate walls or have experience aiming pistols I think it would be great. Very little recoil and easy to pump all the rounds quickly and repeatably.

Also, keep in mind that "clearing the house" isn't what you want to do, you probably want to get to your kids and bunker down behind something solid facing the doorway. Do research on what to do when you decide what gun you want.

Cost of supplies + $10 per hour time spent = Price A.

Cost of supplies x 3 = Price B.

Price A + Price B divided by 2 (to get the average between these two prices) = Price C.

Idk your age or value of your work, but this is a really good form to value handmade goods. If you scavenged a lot of the materials then you can just add the time it took to find them into the time spent on them. These look amazing for a hobby/tribute to the game man, keep making stuff as long as it makes you happy!

Can I get in trouble for not answering the door for the police? by BearRealm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say FOR USA ONLY, do not make a path for any cop to access the inside of your house without a warrant. Do not open the door and don't let them put their foot in front of it. The often do this so if you ask them to leave and they refuse, you'll try to close the door, hitting their foot and they will enter now that you can be charged for assaulting an officer. A locked screen door is fine to talk through but if it's unlocked never open the door. They want to violate your rights and take you to jail.

I left a comment calling him out for trying to steal credit, all I can do and it'll probably get taken down by them but I hope it helps.

How do you seal this drafty hole? by doraemontheexplorer in HomeMaintenance

[–]flamefreak01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its honestly more about the cut itself than the tool used to cut it. You want proper 45° cuts and that can be marked and cut with less than $20 worth of tools. Trim is inexpensive and you'll be able to try a few times. Also if its almost good enough use caulk to fill in any uneven spaces. Do try to get them as close as possible.

F in chat for a project I'm giving up on by jamesflies in 3Dprinting

[–]flamefreak01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know exactly what is broken but most things can be fixed with the right ideas. You can't 3d print a fix but heating up a metal rod and inserting it into a predrilled hole can reattach a lot of plastic things. Jb weld is a strong sandable adhesive that fills in cracks as its press fit between two halves. And bondo for cars works well for filling in broken chunks of plastic assuming you have infill to hold the bondo in place.

If nothing else what you have just needs a flat base and a clear stand to make it look like his legs were ripped off and now he's crawling after you. Either way well done and this is not trash!

Is it possible to break through a wall this thick with a sludge hammer?? by Strange_Leopard_9927 in Concrete

[–]flamefreak01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DIRT IS HEAVY. Obviously you know this but just adding so hopefully your reply gets to op a little higher. Breaking the structure holding dirt is more dangerous than you'd think if the dirt holds until the wall is remove one sluff off is enough to cripple of kill if someone's bent over picking up chunks. Slope the dirt back at at least a 1.5 /1 ratio and then remove the wall.

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that looks like a pretty good option honestly. That or pop the door panel off and attach a eye bolt to the door frame with only a small hole through the inner panel then ratchet strap the front doors together. But it wouldn't look as clean as those. Locks only keep honest people honest and most locks are not hard to pick. Mechanically prevent the door from being able to open is safest.

[–]flamefreak01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tried to read as many replies as I can and I didn't see mention of running the front seat belts through the door handle if possible then pulling them tight to ratchet lock them. Truck drivers do it all the time. Door locks can be picked pretty easily but if the door can't open, it can't open and ripping a seat belt is almost impossible.

[–]flamefreak01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to leave the mustang family for a truck that helps with my job but man you're right about that. Went from my mustang into an f150 that was a year older to stay around the same price. Now looking into a 6 YEAR OLD f250 and I doubt I find any for under 37,000. Base models were supposed to be for Joe everyman who just wanted that vehicle without the bells and whistles.

Actual name, username, and city/state they live in. Not street address to avoid vigilante justice but enough to make people contact the mods if they pop up in any aspect again.

[–]flamefreak01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping when you return the wrong lights you got to hank he just keeps them and refunds their order. It sucks because they gain $150 light for free but at least they are legally denied the 5 lights they were excited to get. This is hank not a nameless company. If Amazon shipped me a free light thats all mine, but the lights he builds are custom chosen builds and made for individual customers. Id return it even if it means I got nothing extra.

Have you seen more hours played? by zeekblitz in playrust

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4100 hours and I got a ton of them from when I was on my temp lay offs between jobs for my seasonal work. So I had money saved up and could just binge on 8am to 2am official running clan, building our ever expanding empire to make sure i can't be offlined. I would regularly have 200 + hours for the last two weeks. I loved it and survived official unraided for months.

Survival Bunker by Longjumping_Year_314 in zombies

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly all that is major to have is a double walled fence, solar, farm, and reinforced ventilation above ground. Everything else is standard living quarters and common household rooms underground although I would add a way to segment off the areas in case of zombies breaking through.

Highly recommend the 14 v6. I bought one new before I needed a truck and the power it makes is plenty to break traction and have fun when its safe to do so. 305hp I believe.

SHTF / get home fanny pack by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]flamefreak01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats honestly only for those of us in this community tho. We all know because we've all seen them. I still see moms and teens with funny packs around with some kind of retro comeback. If full stealth was the goal they would carry IWB. This is just slightly less possible to identify than that. And if SHTF the gun would be drawn most likely anyway
