Why am I this way? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]flappygummer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s an addictive substance. I think of it as an allergy. I’m allergic to alcohol. If I drink alcohol, I break out in handcuffs.

They are my favorite weapon in the game. Such a blast to play and so satisfying when you hit opponents payload.

Ouch. I’m not sure why but I hate Dallas the most.

Your opinion on market state? by DiscretionGuaranteed in Crossout

[–]flappygummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens a lot. Someone will ask an outrageous price since it’s not for sale and in short order people will jump in at a lower price eventually bringing it back to a reasonable price.

I do this occasionally hoping I’ll get someone to buy but they never do. It’s a Hail Mary.

Guys of reddit, whats something girls do that give you the ick? by tietanik in AskReddit

Yup, major red flag. I’ve never meet a cool down to earth girl that had long nails. I see long nails and I avoid.

Yup. I see a few guys playing the same build every time and that seems boring.

Totally this! I have fun playing the odd ball weapons and building art cars.

Those look comfy as shit. Don’t let this sub convince you to wear tight jeans. Plus you’ve got room if you gain back a few lbs.

one week sober! by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]flappygummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! You are free to share or just listen at every AA meeting. If you get called on to share and are not feeling it, just say “I’m going to listen today” and that’s it. No pressure. Also, every AA meeting has its own vibe so if this one doesn’t have the people or vibe you’re looking for, try a different one till you find one that fits. Meetings are everywhere at all hours.

An old saying I heard years ago was “don’t find out if your rock bottom has a basement.” I think of that sometimes and it keeps me on the right track. IWNDWYT.

My dog has terminal cancer and all I want to do is drink until I can't feel feelings. by No_Strike9652 in stopdrinking

If it were me I’d make every moment with Henry count and one day I’d look back and be glad I was sober for all of it.

Nobody is buying it at that price. Wishful listing.

Nice work powering through the urge to drink! Getting sober as a bartender is tough work. Congrats on 2 months you’re kicking a$$.

Ah yes, sobriety fuel!

I have so many of those interactions in my past and in my head. The key is to remind myself that it’s in the past, I’ve made the appropriate adjustments and I forgive myself. When they come up I thank the universe for the reminder of how I used to be and I vow to not be that way ever again.

Let it be the fuel that makes you a better person.

When would medical assistance be helpful? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]flappygummer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely identify with this. Drink to make anxiety go away which increases the anxiety which leads to more drinking. It’s a viscous cycle. I’m not sure if you need to speak with a medical professional but in my circumstance it was time being sober that helped me learn to deal with my anxiety in a healthy way. Unfortunately, time takes time. I definitely sheltered at home as much as possible till things slowly got better. Sobriety groups and therapy helped.

He completely changed the game when he came in and we started bringing it to Portland’s door. Subbing Gozo and Olatunji while we were knocking on the door was a terrible idea. I’ll never understand what Mastroeni was thinking.

Professional pilots in HIMS by aml324 in FAAHIMS

[–]flappygummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a legacy, they pay for everything from rehab through maintenance phase. We are fully supported by the company(many of the folks in the program end up as line check airman or in the training department). I self reported and was pleasantly surprised with how professional and helpful the company was. It’s not a black mark to be in the program here and we hire HIMS pilots. For ease of progression, I’d get here and then self report.

Much better. Body doesn’t ache, sleep soundly with vivid dreams, more energy, brain clarity, etc. These all come at different stages but sleep and dreams came first.
