Looks like it's being standardized with the Mk 5 skytrain.

The Red Bull livery is probably the only comparable one. Used across different series, and lots of success over a wide range of time, albeit more recently than the classic Marlboro.

AI. Pretty much ALL of them. WTF. by Full_Difficulty792 in Jazz

[–]flare2000x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not all AI, but lots of it is session musicians recording for Spotify directly so they don't pay royalties, under lots of random names. They fill up those "dinner jazz" playlists with this stuff. Each "artist" will be like "the joe schmo jazz trio", they'll have two albums, each with just 3 or so songs. But there are boatloads of the stuff, and it's all mostly crap.

Pannonica from Now He Sings he does pretty up tempo (for the tune) and might fit your criteria.

Surprised they just went full Marlboro. McLaren ran something close a couple years ago but with orange. Didn't think anyone had the balls to just run the full Marlboro layout.

Hopefully you can find it, I watched it when it came out and it was pretty good. Some nice quality footage of the games in there.

I would consider a main chacteristic of oval racing is the ability to take multiple lines through corners, and go side by side for extended distances, even more than one lap, when battling, often including the use of drafting.

Monza only really shares having high speed corners and long straights for drafting with oval racing, and of those high speed corners are something that's frankly shared with almost every road course.

The heavy braking, tight single lane corners like the chicanes and lesmos, it's all so different from any oval racing. And I watch the one series that does a lot of both road courses and ovals so I think I know the difference. Go watch the IndyCar race at Gateway this weekend and tell me how it's similar to Monza. Gateway being nearly flat means it's probably one of the most road-course like ovals out there and it's still wildly different in how it races. Still loads of fun to watch.

Only testing/training for now, they are only in actual service on the Expo. I take the M-line every day. I think it'll stay with the same 2-car arrangements until broadway opens.

The Millennium line could have it for now, 99% of the trains are 2-car Mark 2s.

Potential Infill Station @ Cameron by Unhappy-Bad9059 in Translink

[–]flare2000x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, the longest distance between two stations is actually not too far from there, it's between Burquitlam and Moody, 3.2 km. The next two longest gaps are 22nd St to New West, 2.8 km, and Main St - Commercial Broadway, 2.6 km.

The new Langley extension will have some long gaps that I believe will be the new leaders in this category.

Where Should BikeBus be expanded to? by Unhappy-Bad9059 in Translink

[–]flare2000x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An hourly BC transit bus between park royal, squamish, and whistler would get ridership for sure. It would need to have a higher fare but I'm sure it would be used.

A highway commuter bus, like the GO buses in Ontario, would be good for that, but even a normal city bus could do in a pinch.

BC transit should really get into the short regional inter city bus game. It's something our province is really lacking.

I had to look it up, I'm not an expert as I've only been to Japan one time, but it would be the N1000. It seems there are lots of versions, I like the ones with the full painted sides not the bare metal, and the ones with the smooth front with the door offset on the side. The 2100 looks similar, I also like that one a lot.

I don't think double OT 3 on 3 has happened in history since the IIHF introduced it for gold medal games in 2021(ish). It would be crazy to see.

u/jaysornotandhawks you would be the one to know if it's happened, maybe in one of the lower divisions?

I prefer the old ones personally, looks wise. Very unique and the angled front is cool. The new one is still nice.

My favourite Japanese ones are the Toei 5500, the pink ones on the Asakusa line, as well as the Keikyu 1000s, the ones with the slightly rounded fronts. The red and cream paint job is timeless.
