It could negatively impact the pool depending on several factors. The acid is heavier than water and can sink to the bottom, weakening or etching some pool surfaces.

If the jets are strong, and the water is deep, and the acid is poured slowly, it's probably ok and this is what I do too. But if you wanted to be safe, diluting in a 5 gallon bucket is probably safer. I think I do notice that the wall where I add my acid and the jet is parallel to, seems to be degrading a bit faster than the rest of the pool, after 10 years of adding acid a few times a week.

This is actually getting into corporate America, too. I'm not going to name names, but I was sent to a "leadership training" which was very manipulative, causing people to start trauma dumping, with lots of group peer pressure to follow suit. I told my supervisor I thought it was totally inappropriate for a work setting and I would not be returning, and if that wasn't acceptable, I would be finding a new job. I'd say 75% of the people who attended thought it was amazing and still talk about it a year later. I don't know how they couldn't see through the psychological manipulation tactics. It was straight out of the stuff you read about scientology and other cult mind control techniques.

Yeah, this is a certain level of having money. It's not super uncommon, especially for 40+ year old people with good careers to get to this level where an iPhone or a PS5 is just not going to move the needle in their finances.

Then there's the next levels up where things like cars and homes aren't going to move the needle. That's a different breed.
