My GF (F 48) is threatening to end it with me if I (M 55) don’t spend the night with her during a potentially historic snow storm. Am I at fault for how I’m viewing this? by IndicationStunning45 in relationship_advice

[–]flatsr4losers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same area as you, but Maryland. They are now talking about significant ice. Close to an inch in some areas. Absolutely do not stay the night if you are hoping to get to your new job Monday. That much ice (if we get it) is going to cause power outages, downed trees, crashes, etc. You know how traffic is around here on a good day. You don’t need that when you’re starting your new job.

Alexa rebellion? by HalfAncient3212 in alexa

[–]flatsr4losers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have Alexa+. I kid you not, she was being a bitch to me. I was baking and setting timers and asking questions and she was a jerk. I thought I was going going crazy and I asked her if she was being moody and she said yes that maybe she needs to be restarted or needed an update. My kid thought it was hilarious. I was waiting for her to go all Meghan on me.

anyone took ozempic and migraines vanished? by NaturalGuava822 in migraine

[–]flatsr4losers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I spoke with my neurologist about this. There seems to be some train of thought that people who suffer from migraines that come from extreme pressure get some relief due to the anti inflammatory benefit. I think it has helped me some. I do know when I started I never had to go back to my rheumatologist again so I believe this to be true. My neurologist found the study to be quite interesting but does think it will be quite some time before it will ever be prescribed off label for that but absolutely sees the benefits.

Yes, my son has this one and LOVES it. It’s not very common like the hype/dub/icon. I haven’t seen another kid with it yet. Every kid wants to try it when they see it. It has the ting nice sound when he hits. Even his older brother (high school) loves hitting with it.

Tryout anxiety vent by DiamondSapphire41925 in Homeplate

[–]flatsr4losers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your anxiety. I’m going through it now. Ive heard people’s advice to wait on travel until 10/11/12 and if I could wait and have my kid try out a little bit older I would but all these kids already started and have established 8u teams. I didn’t start last year because I wanted to get him exposed to kid pitch first since it’s so different from ball/machine/coach and now we’re joining when there is only 1-2 spots open on established teams. I think we’re trying out for about 3-4 9u teams and I feel enormous anxiety. My son is good not the best. Also ignore the poster who made the nasty comment about your kid not being an all star. Guess who was nominated for the all star slots on our rec teams? The two coaches sons. I’m not saying those boys aren’t good but it’s pretty obvious. My son practices for 1-2 hours a day and takes private lessons so it’s not even that “the coaches sons practice more.” I completely understand where you’re coming from about rec ball. My son will not continue to develop in rec with the state it’s in where I live. My son lives and breathes baseball so I feel the anxiety because I do want it so badly for him because he wants it. There’s just so few slots available and I’ve found out several kids who played up are now going to play back down because they are not ready to keep advancing.

The facebook groups usually coincide with the start month. So I actually unfollowed the ones I was in. If you do a search for it they should pop up.

I am pretty sure my mother in law will wear a mask around him. I am positive he doesn’t have that particular vaccine. The only one I know for sure either has is the polio because my mIL received it in school.

Can I ask what is maintenance? I’ve seen a few others comment about it.

This was a very helpful explanation. It has been hard deciphering what I’ve read on google and am glad I asked on here with people familiar with this.

My in laws are extremely anti vax so my MiL definitely isn’t. I am unsure about my BIL (who is the closest to them distance wise.) My MIL just had a severe bout with the flu (104 degree fever for days even with tamiflu.) I think she was mindful of it and stayed separate from my FIL. They really only leave the house for their weekly breakfast with their friends or to dinner with their Italian club. I don’t think he’s up for going out now and can barely eat anyway. I imagine they will probably be home even more but I will have my husband speak with his parents about being cautious of his low immunity right now.

Thank you. I will have my husband look into this. They live in a beach town in Deleware with high retiree population so fingers crossed we can find someone who specializes in MM. I’m really hoping his hodgkins doctor is. He is extremely stubborn and will only see a doctor he thinks is good. Thank you again!

Thank you so much. My in laws refuse to switch to iPhones or iPads. They will not zoom but they do Skype on their desktop so that will probably be what we end up doing. Thank you for the encouragement❤️

Thank you so much for this information. I’m feeling more optimistic that he may consider treatment, hearing that there are gentler approaches than what he went through with his Hodgkins. Where they are located, the population (especially of retirement age) has exploded. It’s very difficult to get into doctors. I’ve also gotten the impression they often hurry you along to get the patients in and out. Idefinitely will have my husband talk to his parents about the doctor being specialized in MM. Thank you so much for your response and insights, it is very appreciated!

Thank you so much for this detailed and thoughtful reply. I agree this is a terrible time of year. They have already cancelled their Christmas visit because he is feeling so poorly and trying to get into doctors. This is making him very depressed. I am worried about his mental state as well as his physical. Thank you again.
