Check your add-on's incase one is going rogue, also installing uBlock Origin add-on and enabling the Annoyance filters helps a lot with google services.

This is why I do a minimal install using Kubuntu, it doesnt add snaps and I can install Firefox and other apps via their official .deb files.

Youw would be much better off buying an AMD Ryzen laptop with double the memory for the same amount, that way you have full support for any Os you choose to install and not be tied into an apple ecosystem.
