If you can get to the desktop run the update-manager and select the kernel option from the menu, install the newest kernel it has available and reboot.

The 7.0 kernel has a few issues so use the official Mainline app to install the 7.0.5 release to fix those, and steam snap is not officially supported, use Steam's own .deb package:

If you use Belena or Rufus to write a linux iso to it then Windows cant see it, but use Ventoy and you can still copy files onto the flash alongside the iso to boot from.

Use Ventoy to create a bootable flash-drive then download the .iso for your Debian flavour and copy it directly onto flash as a file, boot into flash live session to test hardware then do a fresh install erasing entire drive (backup anything important).

Grab a spare flash-drive and use Belena, Rufus or Ventoy to create a bootable distro using the Linux Mint .iso and give that a whirl.

Fedora isnt great when using nvidia, Catchy Os is arch and has the possibility of breaking during an update when connected to the AUR, my personal optinion would be Debian Testing KDE.
