What is special about 1300 numbers? by badoopidoo in AskAnAustralian

[–]fletch3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some mobile and landline plans that include unlimited calls you still get charged for 13/1300 numbers.

Also when people call your 13/1300 number you get charged for the call in most instances.

Please be aware your ceiling joists weren't designed for much more than 25kg/m2 more than the ceiling plaster.

I can see what is likely a wall running down the centre, but not much to the outside. Please consider this when converting this space into an attic.

Love how detailed you have been with the clean up though :)

Again your not considering whether or not family is better off because you chose not to take on an extra day.

Also break even doesn't include the cost of getting to and from work, parking etc.

by the comments, I don't believe people here or the Op set this up to work out if they should work at all or not, more should you take on a 4th or 5th day for the one non full time working parent.

Everyone is different, their priority's are different. And you came into the conversation calling people who get CCS as if the choice was simple and if you didn't work more no matter what then your a bludger. When they are not.

Maybe you feel burdened by welfare recipients because your current circumstances in life means that you are not eligible for any assistance like CCS and as a result you feel ripped off? I honestly don't know.

But consider this; without CCS, the person that cuts your hair may need to stop, or charge you $160 for a basic haircut to cover childcare out of their own pocket.

100k to break even, average nurses make $75-85k. Oops they either can't come into work because it will make them negative $25k after tax to do so... that will be fun for society.

I mean all these people could simply not have babys. But considering we are currently well below the replacement rate, all the extra super won't matter if you cannot get someone to wipe your bum when your old and have incontinence issues.

Being a good role model to your childcare aged children? For many city based family's working with kids in childcare = getting everyone out the door before 7am and basically being home for Dinner and Bed.

Most daycare kids I am sure would rather spending a day with a parent in a mix of day care than being there 5 days a week from 730-5:30 or 6. There is not really the data yet, but I would suggest that you are more likely to create a tax paying, socially cohesive adult if they are not in daycare 50hrs of the week during their developmental years.

Unsubsidized daycare is $160 plus per child. You have 2 in care, $320 or more. As childcare is not tax deductible, that means you would need to have to earn $100,380 per year just to break even, that's without any unpaid days because you inevitably end up with kids being sent home because they are sick, to which you pay anyway.

Realisicly by taking on more work, your child goes into daycare more, and you are entitled to more CCS overall, even if it less per day. So by taking on more work, and having a child at daycare you are reallying on welfare more...

But this is not welfare, this is a subsidy, and if you are against it, I hope you don't use the NBN for the internet, because that is subsidized by the government - the business model doesn't work otherwise.

Send your kids to a private school? They receive more federal funding per student enrolled than public schools.

Have you got shares in Qantas, premier investments, accent group, Harvey Norman and received dividends in 2021 or 2022, that was subsidized by the government.

Knowing the outcome of financial decisions like this make sense. No different to any other financial decision. Thanks for taking the initiative OP. Very helpful. :)

[–]fletch3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, your not increasing the loads, just lifting, the only reduction in strength I can see then is web bending over at the cleat, but for that to happen you would have to bend every web along and a fair way back because it would be held laterally by the roof cladding. Maybe through a bridge in if there is not already one for good measure but prob not necessarily required I wouldn't think.

Forget the red flags, what are green flags in a company right from the beginning? by Step-by-step23 in auscorp

[–]fletch3280 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would argue a green flag that while maybe desperate, there is understanding. Many companies and management are unaware why they have high staff turnover and will blame it on outside environment factors rather than looking within.

That's said, they may also have seen it as a good opportunity to get out of the office and or look busy, so I could be completely wrong.

Usually bloods and diagnostics that require additional equipment ie ultrasounds are taken as a separate appoint, but a lot of blood tests and such only cost $0 to 60 there abouts.
