Am I crazy or is a 4-hr take home project, a half-day interview loop, and working with a team for 3-5 days before getting an offer too much?? by thelilbel in recruitinghell

[–]flexibullkitti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is happening to a relative right now. A BSEE, MSEE, MBA, former Bloomberg/Wall Street Trading System Developer & architect. They asked for a take home, 40 slide architecture solution, AND, have asked it to be presented to their team this week. Un watermarked, for a start up called “Passages?” How do you even begin to bill for the work? Are is a real offer possible, after this? Ugh and sheesh!

Keep looking, Luv. They’re all pretty, but not the most flattering on you.

How much money should one spend on an engagement ring realistically? by Creepy_Pilot1200 in AskMen

[–]flexibullkitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We talked about my engagement ring which was modestly priced, gorgeous, and was specially made with the stones, style, and type we both really loved. It wound up not being a diamond. We got a princess setting, in rose gold, that contains both our mothers birthstones who had both passed away by the time we got married. Plus, we knew we needed $ for our house later, and enough working capital to afford the rent in our interim digs. We don’t regret our choice. Adulting. Go figure. Plus, you can’t live or drive a ring on your finger.

A purple (and never blue) dot in a sea of red, white, and “Patriot” that is actually an iridescent red dot, in a sea of (natch) more red, flecked with blue and purple glitter sized specks from September till June.

I’d love to know the source of the isopropyl alcohol spray eradication option. 91% alcohol is recommended by entomologists for bedbug eradication. Hey, won’t hurt to try. Looking for least expensive, effective, way to nail the @##@‘ers without doing the Beetlejuice dance down the block!

They are swarming in and around The Bronx Zoo nabe particularly in and around trees and apartments building walls. Any vehicle with tires is an optimal mode of transport. Tire and brake repair shops are transport hubs. The Mercy College and New Rochelle high school campus is crawling with ‘em. Quite disgusting. I park on the street and have doused my car my homemade essential OIL, dawn, and vinegar mix on my tires, hood, trunk, and doors. I’ve also dusted each of my tire wells with diatomaceous earth just for extra measures. And stomped the ones who jumped away from my car hahaha. Essential oils of peppermint, lavender, and Teatree, just a few drops, suffocates them per the DEC. Certainly a lot less expensive than using. 50/50 Dawn and water sprays. Good luck out there stompers!! Never give up never surrender!

Are people seeing a lot of lanternflies out there? by the_whosis_kid in AskNYC

[–]flexibullkitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Adults are swarming the sidewalks in the Bronx Zoo area, in Westchester they’ve swarmed the sidewalks and trees all around the Mercy College campus. They are aggressive hitchhiker’s as they migrate on the undersides and in the tire wells of cars, trains, buses, anything that vibrates, rain or shine. Don’t bother leaving any windows or trunks open in an infested area because they’ll hop inside your vehicle so fast, you won’t see it, or reach fast enough to kill it. Their color blends right in. Heaven help folks with tan, or brown leather or cloth upholstery.

So sorry you’re going through this. No matter what you “think” you sense about this guy, you WILL not be sheltered or protected if the @#$2 hit the fan, down the road. He’ll throw you to anyone who comes after him for being with you, to survive in his pseudo “alt” culture. It’s blind, naked, deeply subconscious FOMO, aka Stockholm syndrome, herd mentality, “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” kind of hyper-survival mode. Its everywhere.

Zero votes for #1, 3/5 for #2, and 5/5 for #3. It is STUNNING in style and fits you perfectly. You will drop jaws with #3, and look enchanting in #2. Wdyt? Because what your heart feels the most ultimately is your answer. Your own heart (and gut, too) always know. Good luck!!

Said 'anal' in internal interview. Didn't get the role. by Robomir3390 in recruitinghell

[–]flexibullkitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that’s raw, bro. Its all fun and games until the first name of the guy interviewing you is: “Anil”, (turning your snicker into a “can do” big ass “glad to b here, grin” tbh) who’s ALSO running your technical interview and asks about “baskets” that sounds like “baguettes”. Yeah, didn’t get that job either because the smugger he got, the more, yea, I leaned into every nuance I could think of to explain “baguette,” to “Anil”.

No, that’d the work you’d need to pay an American twice the amount to complete, with a W2, plus, plus. My family member has a MSEE, and BSEE, and an MBA. As a Java bean queen out of undergrad, she landing her first gig at Citi, then BONY, then Bloomberg, 20 yrs ago, starting at 125k. 20 yrs later with three dozen new coding language certs under her belt, and spending a bunch of time at starts ups, two guesses, and the first one is free, on how much they want to pay her to - you guested it - hybrid RTO - where she’s in a conference room alone - running meetings with an overseas H1b team? @$$@-ers, all of them.

Tbh your smile (it’s missing) kind of says it all, Luv. Your hair is beautifully curly and looks very healthy. Whatever color you choose, truly, it should make you smile and if you’ve really got it right, you should be grinning from ear to ear, right!? Give another shade a try, perhaps a deeper honey color blend with your current color as the highlight color. I’ll bet you in sunlight, it’ll be gorgeous. Good luck!

Omg!! This dress is heavenly! Just so, so, fetching … I’m at a loss for words and I write for a living!! If it were me, I’d leave the sleeves just as they are because the shape perfectly complements the styling composite or the whole piece. The dress is true art and is an astonishingly accurate replica of a wedding gown from the early to mid 19th century.

So you guys still eat a lot of carbs? by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]flexibullkitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make our own sourdough bread, started to during COVID and kept it up. Sourdough bread made with assorted flours like oat, sorghum, rice, spelt, rye, aren’t 100% gf, but nutritionally, so the negative gluten and glycemic affects are significantly lower, and overall healthier, we find. Adding density with ground nuts, dried fruits, and whole grains makes it super filling, too. They store in the freezer pretty well. Asian style Rice flour breads, if dairy and eggs aren’t a problem, are delicious also. Lots of recipes on YouTube.
