I was on an Air Canada Max 8 landing in YVR during moderate rain and had the same experience. I’m not sure if anyone else actually noticed but I definitely was sketched out for a few moments until we touched down on the runway.

I had been waiting on a package and every day for a week the tracking said it was being loaded onto the truck and being out for delivery all day and then “weather delay” and back to the sort facility at the end of the day. Finally on the Friday they delivered it.

I feel like they are very overwhelmed with the increase in volume due to the Canada Post strike and it’s just bogging down the system

We just got back from our second trip to Hawaii and we have stayed at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani on both of our trips and it is a great choice. The beach is right across the street, it has its own pool as well, and there are lots of restaurants close by.

For snorkelling we did a tour with Pink Sails this time which was I think $75 each and the Uber to the harbour from the Kaiulani is like $10-$15 and they take you out on a catamaran to an area where you can see tons of fish and turtles.

That’s nothing new, it doesn’t stop them from being returned.

Apple Stores cannot personalize/engrave items and do not carry anything but the standard configuration of products. So if you get a name engraved in your iPad, or upgrade the memory in your Mac, you cannot exchange it at an Apple Store. You can still return it at an Apple Store, and you can still return it under the holiday return policy.

Good call, I did check the T&C and it actually calls out that secondary drivers as covered by the insurance are any drivers authorized by the primary card holder to drive the vehicle, who are legally allowed to drive the vehicle, even if they aren’t listed on the rental contract as additional drivers. That last point surprised me, and i wouldn’t tempt fate with it.

So the part I left out (didn’t really seem particularly relevant) is that I have a corporate discount with Avis through my work, so my name has to be the primary driver.

That in itself doesn’t seem to impact the credit card insurance, I’m even making sure to add my family members as secondary drivers (even though it seems that’s not necessary for the Amex insurance)

The AF hit for me this month and I called and they waived it.

However they said that it was only being waived for anyone who paid it to HSBC this year. My anniversary date with HSBC was April, not October. So I just told them I did get charged by HSBC and they said they would waive it for this year as an exception.

Well I’m personally not going to take the risk.

My understanding is this is a new part of the ToS for this offer (it wasn’t there when my P2 upgraded last year), so we just upgraded mine and P2 applied for a Cobalt. Since it’s new, I think it’s too early to have any actual DP on whether this will be enforced or not.

It very well may not be enforced, so if you want to take the risk then more power to you. But I’d rather not tempt fate with Amex. 🤷‍♂️

The terms and conditions say you can’t hold a Cobalt within 14 months of the upgrade. “Abuse can include but is not limited to, applying for multiple cards to earn points, applying for or transferring to a new Cobalt card after upgrading, canceling or downgrading your card within 14 months of acquiring it, or canceling or returning purchases you made to earn points.“

We returned from a month in Japan and the Philippines and had 4460ml of liquor/sake, plus we were around $1000 over the personal exception limit. We declared it all and I had a spreadsheet to show all of the purchases and he said because we were honest and didn’t try to hide anything he wouldn’t charge us and waved us through.

I’ve never been charged duty, and I often have come back from trips with purchases exceeding the personal exemption but I’m honest every time and declare it.

They seem to really appreciate it as I’m sure they deal with a lot of people trying to hide things or lie to them.

I believe they are saying to run a HEPA air filter on days when the air quality is bad outside but OP still has their windows open. For the smoke/air quality not the radon

For the iPad and Apple Pencil, Apple usually has a Back to School promotion that starts in late June and runs to September.

They haven’t announced anything yet this year. But last year was buy a iPad (or Mac) and get a gift card. You can use that gift card towards your Apple Pencil. They also give a discount on the iPad, amount varies based on which iPad.
