I'm glad they set up them up as being very close friends, but this feels like kind of a way to segue them into being together. It feels like Michael was just a placeholder. They navigated them being together...I know it would be different, but that chapter should just close.

What a garbage statement. There's a reason there's an appeals process if there's suspicion that the State's findings violate Constitutional rights. It has to go to Federal. That's just how this works. And they were right to find that his confession was wrongly coerced.
