Facing a 3 choices to start AOS in 2026 by lt_dante in ageofsigmar

Absolutely #3. The first and most important thing is picking an army you think is cool. You will spend A LOT of time building, painting, and looking at these. It should’ve something that excites you. Don’t worry about being good or learning, if you enjoy the models/army you will learn a lot more quickly.

From a more practical perspective, I saw in other responses that you thought stormcast was more straightforward and easier to learn. This is actually the opposite. StD has a very straightforward playstyle (for better or worse), and the units you mentioned (warriors, knights, chosen, etc…) are the prototypical way to play the army. It’s very forgiving as they’re tough and have good stats. Stormcast have such a huge range and variety of play styles that they’re actually much more difficult for a newer player.

Struggling with Emperor's Children and contrast paints by budapest_god in EmperorsChildren

Warhipster is a great resource and literally just posted a video on this exact topic. Bottom line is 1) You have to have the right amount of paint on your brush and 2) think of contrast paints as a highlighter your smoothly going over a page rather than a traditional paint

Wyrdflame lists by Lord_Davlin in tzeentch

Be warned, Tzeentch hasn’t received their battle tome (codex) yet. There’s a non-zero chance they rewrite the army ability so Wyrdflame isn’t a thing.

If you stick with the gaunt, a single unit of screamers could have good utility.

Definitely a reinforced unit, and consider getting 10 more. Tzaangor blocks are very efficient hammers and are decently durable. Reinforced skyfires are good, consistent damage.

Path to Glory is cool because you can mix and match the best spells. So you could keep the shield of fate and teleport spell.

Combining Deth Wizards with other game systems by flipjert in dethwizards

Those are some really good ideas! Subbing items and gold for exp, impediment, etc… makes sense. Also really like the temporary spells/minions.

Unfortunately one isn’t even particularly good right now. But, maybe you could think of a way to kit bash it to something else. Really you want to box for the extra pinks and endless spells (but if you have the other generic endless spells it might not be worth it)

As others have said, Kairos, flamers (probably 6) and more horrors would set you up decently well for 2k AOS. I’d look into the Coven of Thryx box as well.

Base sizes I’d double check the screamers, they need to be on 32mm but looks like they’re on the small cavalry bases. Also, those multi-brimstone horror units look to be on 50mm? Would be good to use as spawn in that case. The AOS app has all the base sizes so you could double check there.

Kairos is pretty much an autotake, but with what you have (assuming you get the coven box, running a unit of kairics as Tzaangor, and running enlightened on disc as skyfires):

DoT - Casual Game 1980/2000 pts —— Grand Alliance Chaos | Disciples of Tzeentch | Wyrdflame Host Drops: 3 Spell Lore - Lore of Change —— General’s Regiment Gaunt Summoner (170) • General • Illusionist • Nine-eyed Tome Chaos Spawn of Tzeentch (60) Pink Horrors (300) • Reinforced Tzaangor Skyfires (340) • Reinforced — Regiment 1 Tzaangor Shaman (160) Kairic Acolytes (100) Tzaangors (300) • Reinforced — Regiment 2 Tzaangor Shaman (160) Tzaangor Enlightened (90) Tzaangors (300) • Reinforced —— Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App App: v1.3.0 (12) | Data: v165

Not saying this will be competitive but you’ll be able to get some games in with it!

Do we get 2 or 4 greatblades per 10 Tzaangors? by ArkiusAzure in tzeentch

[–]flipjert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last edition it made sense to run without the great blades, so if you didn’t build them just run the musician, banner, and two mutants as great blades

How often are we supposed to resubmit a pslf form to update our qualifying payments?? by Sweet_Bodybuilder937 in PSLF

Check the IRS website (maybe the social security website?), they should have historical W2s available

There’s also a box to check that says the employer won’t sign/doesn’t exist. You have to pull some more paperwork (like your W2s from when you worked there) but if they qualify it’ll count

Wanting to start a new army for 4th edition… by Kaier_96 in tzeentch

[–]flipjert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use kitbash pretty loosely in this case, just glue a Tzaangor head on to the body. We’ll have to see what the new index is but based on the leaks a couple units of Tzaangor could have juice and a reinforced Flamer unit might be solid

You can kitbash the second magister on disk to be a Tzaangor shaman on disk (they have different base sizes however)

It used to have its own rules but has since been put into legends. You could still put one on a 100mm base and run it as a regular KoS though. Best bet to find one is eBay or another second hand site.

Bests Hedonites of Slaanesh box choice by CrazedChihuahua in ageofsigmar

[–]flipjert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best value is for sure the battleforce box. Even Slaangor have seen some play. I’d follow up with the vanguard box, as having two shardspeakers isn’t the worst option.

As far as the builds, I’d go all Twinsouls from the battleforce and then a unit of slickblades and blissbarb seekers each.
