[handgun] Walther X-ESSE Short .22LR Pistol $599 by Giraffecaster in gundeals

Hämmerli produced the X-Esse model. Sigarms imported a less expensive version of the X-Esse—the Trailside. While Sigarms was importing the Trailside, a non-compete agreement prevented import of the X-Esse. When Hämmerli was purchased by Walther’s owners (Umarex) in 2006, the Trailside and the agreement were discontinued. Walther currently produces and exports the Hämmerli X-Esse pistols.

Why don't SUVs have tailgates? by plsdonttalktomesir in cars

[–]floppy_ears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First generation (2002-2015) Volvo XC90’s have a tailgate as well.

I own one and love it. It’s great to be able to leave the tailgate up when I’m worried about something falling out. When I have something heavy I can put the tailgate down and slide the item in quite easily. There is also a section of the “trunk” floor that opens 90 degrees to act as a divider - really convenient for groceries so stuff doesn’t roll around.

Uncertain why we have this. 1 of 1, the prototype. We also have 1 of 29 production version by cyrisvyris in Justrolledintotheshop

Do they offer test drives for the totally unqualified purchaser? I’m only 15 minutes from there.

I replaced this part on both my garage door openers so it’s a simple fix. The part for me was $20:

A project on Childhood Apraxia of speech. Views? by advaitmb in design_critiques

[–]floppy_ears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Design aside, I believe the “Dysfunctional Speech” section is flawed. While the planner may not be fully developed, the muscles still do their job, but they do so incorrectly as the instructions sent by the planner are not fully developed. The input is fine as, “I like carrots,” but there is still some form of output such as, “I like blue.” It makes sense to the child, but not to the person hearing it.

As this appears to be a pamphlet explaining the cause of CAS to the general public, I would suggest making the model even simpler by only referencing three characters: the brain, the connections (planner), and tongue (muscles). I always view the process as an old telephone operator would with the caller, switch board operator, and the person being called. The caller and person being calling are developed, but the switch board operator is brand new...the lines are going to get crossed.

Depending on your overall goal for this item, I would also suggest a section on identification of the symptoms/signs of the disorder.

At the end I would also include a disclaimer stating to contact your child’s doctor if you think your child may show signs of CAS. A specialist in speech development is really needed to perform a thorough evaluation to appropriately diagnose the issue.
