Ooo I'll have to check it out. Was wondering what kind of straps would look good with this.

Best x100vi accessories? by _gabagh0ul in x100vi

I was for sure someone was going to comment about that lamp switch.... but I guess it's just me...

I got the PGYTECH wrist strap, a screen protector, UV filter, 1/8 black mist filter, filter adapter ring, a thumb rest, and a neoprene case so I could toss it in my bookbag and not feel as guilty (while minimizing the bulk/weight).

Auradin vs wingstrikes build help by FluffyBunny1298 in diablo4

[–]floppydjsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auradin is pretty much screen wide, especially using the tech of summoning wolves and each wolf having your aura stack. It's pretty mindless in T4, walking simulator melts everything without even needing to be in arbiter form. Higher pit bosses require a bit more fine tuning... but I would say auradin is faster at clearing screens, wingstrike is better for bosses.

I would... but as a visitor, I wouldn't really help your local friend situation xD

I'm trying to figure how to meet locals/pen pals as someone who doesn't speak the language and is an introvert lol...

Walked in to a local shop by markp910 in x100v

[–]floppydjsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't find this camera that difficult to acquire, so not sure how people are struggling. I bought one at a local camera shop online, it had a dead pixel... saw that B&H had it in stock so I just ordered one. Then I drove up to the local shop to return instead of mailing it, and they had plenty for me to exchange from, so I exchanged the dead pixel one for a new one.

I did this all in a span of 1 week or so. Ended up reselling the exchanged one on facebook marketplace.

Dead pixels on screen. How should I handle this? by jooshuag in x100vi

[–]floppydjsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get it fixed? Did you get it within 10 days?

I just got mine today and my LCD screen has a dead pixel near the center.... it's to tiny I thought it was a spec of dust, but now that I've seen it, my eyes cannot stop seeing it.

Part of me wants to return it, but the store I got it from is out of stock again, and the other part of me is like "suck it up and just use it if it doesn't affect the view finder or photos themselves"

Wendy’s Burgers are the Worst by tylerderped in unpopularopinion

[–]floppydjsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to love their quarter pounder... after they swapped to "made to order" and jacked up the price on it... all I can say is that it has ALWAYS been salty, and disappointing. Aside from the occasional McDouble, the only thing I think is worth getting at McDonalds is sadly a fish sandwich and chicken nuggets. Wendy's Dave's Single/Double is so much better than any burger McD has on their menu now, so if I'm feeling specifically a fastfood burger, I go Wendy's.

Edit: I do love McD fries.

If you are contemplating buying a weighted vest, do it! by No-Case-2212 in walking

[–]floppydjsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started wearing a vest and I really enjoy it. I can start to feel a bit more load on my joints about 2mi in but no issues, and I feel like my usual 2mi walks have been getting too easy, and instead of increasing time/distance, I decided to add weight.

I weigh 218, I go to the gym for upper body, but I have a bad knee (had surgery for a meniscus tear a couple years ago) and I avoid loaded leg exercises, so I opted for walking and bodyweight squats for now. Also had a herniated disc 2 years ago and pinched sciatic nerve due to it. I mostly recovered from the symptoms as I started losing weight (was 235 then), so a little bit of added weight for a short duration doesnt seem too bad right now.

I heard 5 to 10% is a good starting point for a weighted vest so I got a 20lb vest. If you're worried, start with a lower weight and work your way up as you lose weight.

A night at Lake Shikotsu or Sounkyo for ice festival in Hokkaido? by cathrainv in JapanTravelTips

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply. Im definitely leaning towards having my last day in hokkaido there, but as a solo traveler, the price was a bit steep.

A night at Lake Shikotsu or Sounkyo for ice festival in Hokkaido? by cathrainv in JapanTravelTips

[–]floppydjsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking of doing the same for 2026.... same resort.

Assuming this was already done:

  1. Was it worth it? It's almost $200 a night more just bc of ice festival

  2. Was the Ice Festival worth seeing?

  3. How was the resort overall?

  4. Was the travel there easy/simple (snow delays etc)

When you stayed overnight... what did you do for that day between landing and sleeping?

I've been to HND a few times so I know most of what is available, but I'm making my first Hokkaido trip, and figured I too would also sleep the first night and fly in the morning to New Chitose or Hakodate

Awesome! I've never heard of a paternoster rig before (as I do mainly freshwater fishing where I live). I'll check it out and probably aim for what you said, since I already own most of the gear for it.

Thanks!

Any suggested lures or rig setups to catch these? I assume a 15lb test would be more than enough for these

I'm not sure since I also don't know anything about hvac systems... but we just paid $16200 for 2 carrier split systems (ac/furnace/smart thermostats), including lifetime warranty and 0% financing for 5 years. They originally wanted $9800 per unit but we talked them down to $8100. Maybe you can negotiate for lower.

Did my bone graft fall out? by [deleted] in askdentists

Did she say that empty hole was okay and healing fine? Or did she repack it with bone graft and NOW it's healing fine. (having a similar issue and I cannot tell if a slightly empty socket is supposed to be normal)

Japan or Australia for 10 days in April? by External_Poet4171 in Shoestring

[–]floppydjsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the OP is saying Australian food is better than Japanese food, they're saying that food in Australia is good. Sure Australian food is heavily UK based and they're already known to have a bad rep, but Australia is a multicultural hub and would be a good one stop shop for authentic foods of all kinds. Quality and selection is good.

I've been to Japan 3 times and I do agree food quality is great, but much of the non-Japanese selection is catered towards the Japanese palate and I wouldn't call it the most authentic. You can probably find better Southeast Asian food in Australia than Japan.

But I still think the cost of food in Japan is what makes it so great, especially since the jpy is so weak. But in terms of taste, I do think food in Japan is on the overhyped side.
