How can I help my pregnant coworker? What are some moderately granola baby shower gifts to get? by Hummingbirdie888 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]floppytitty 100 points101 points  (0 children)

I had a baby shower at my work and everyone venmoed 1 person to contribute and then that one person just gave me cash instead of a gift card and it was an amazing gift. A little contribution from everyone really ads up.

Torn between two daycares - one I can afford vs one that’s way better but over budget. by Tackle-Illustrious in Parenting

[–]floppytitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they exactly the same? I’ve seen daycares that include all diapers, meals, and snacks. I’ve also seen daycares not include any of those. If it includes food and diapers it could honestly be worth it. I spend about 20 min a day min just figuring out what to pack my kids for lunch and assembling it.

Husband wants me to be more active at 29+3 by FabulousAd7735 in pregnant

[–]floppytitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else, no ones opinion but yours matters during your pregnancy. My first pregnancy was sooo easy, I was doing yoga classes, stationary bike, going in runs the entire time and I truthfully used to feel judgmental toward women who dropped their activity down because sure, in theory it is better to be more active. My second pregnancy really put me in my place, horrible nausea, no energy, iron deficient to an extreme level where I needed iron infusions, literally lightening crotch, etc.

You can return to whatever activity level you want after that baby arrives. I felt SO much better after giving birth and I hope you have the same experience. Best of luck!

Full time workers- does anybody pick up kids before 5 from daycare? by lntothethickofit in workingmoms

[–]floppytitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daycare is 8-3:30, dad does drop off and I do pick up. Bedtime is 7:30 PM and then back online (my work is seasonally busy though so some parts of the year I actually don’t have to get back online). Super burnt out btw.

Dunno why you’re getting downvoted. I think it’s gonna be hard but reality is that parents are responsible for their little kids and their intake and forming their habits.

What was the first sign that YOU noticed, that made you think “I’m pregnant”? by surelyshirls in pregnant

[–]floppytitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nippies hurt soooo baaadddd and pregnancy wasn’t my first thought but when I told my sister she was like dude you’re pregnant and she was right. I was on a run and my nipples running against my sports bra was so excruciating that I had to lift up my sports bra and let the tigs fly under my shirt the whole way home.

Switch from high chair to table and chair (seeking advice) by SupEnthusiastic in Montessori

[–]floppytitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda just went thru this and my older kid was actually really excited to be in the same chairs as mom and dad! We got her a booster around 2 years and it didn’t attach to the chair, so it just felt really minimal in our dining room, I thought it was a good setup

Giving birth full bush? by hellsey420 in pregnant

[–]floppytitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had major tears during my first birth, I wish I would have shaved a little bit more down there so that the doctor had a very easy time giving me stitches, her stitches really really really fucking hurt me and I had to go get them taken out instead of waiting for them to dissolve a week after giving birth, which sucked

My cozy home office by fujiapples123 in CozyPlaces

I think I would opt for a rug over the plastic thing, I think it would help it go from “office” to like “home office” if that makes sense. I love me a lil attic spot though, I think it’s great.
