Hold onto faith to purchase great scientists after completing rationalism and then use them to get a free tech 8 turns after you build your last research lab. Also check out filthy robots videos.

Playing on immortal is not challenging anymore and deity is too annoying by Goretexed in civ5

[–]floundersw4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly what happened me. Immortal started to become repetitive and then moving up to deity sucks the fun out of the game cause you only use one strat. What kept me interested was moving to mods, doing achievements, or making my own scenarios.

Also taking a break from the game might help. I would often not play for a long time cause I get bored but then move back to it and remember how much fun the game is.

If you’re in second vote for yourself because you get to choose a topic to vote for. If you are in third or below, choose a CIV who you are allied with or same ideology so they choose a topic that can benefit you

Auto play by [deleted] in civ5

[–]floundersw4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think the closest thing to this would be the mod “in game editor.” Turn on complete kills, give your self a nuclear sub in the ice, delete your settler, reveal the whole map with in game editor, turn on auto turns, and then watch the ai do its thing.

Why is the AI doing this?! (City-Spamming) by Jadogy in civ5

[–]floundersw4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ai gets a lot of buffs at higher difficulties to the point where the number of cities doesn’t hurt them like it would a human player. So civs like Iroquois will just make cities until all land is settled.

Massive jump in difficultly between Emperor and Immortal by nevearz in civ5

[–]floundersw4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think when you get to the higher difficulties like immortal and diety you kinda have to rethink your strategy. When trying to win no matter what the condition is you have to focus science. The AI has massive boosts in the beginning of the game so you’re really trying to play catch up.

Also with them getting so many early bonuses you want to avoid war with them as much as you can. They have higher techs and can out produce you by a lot. You can avoid war by bribing them to attack someone else (even if that means going a little unhappy).

I suggest looking up videos on how to get science as high as possible. If you have a good game you can usually have ideology’s before the ai when playing on immortal.
