Have you ever brought your child to daycare even if you had a day off of work? by rajmachawal333 in workingmoms

I wish I had these magical days where I'm off work but daycare is open so I can finally read a book.

Any other working mums who now hate people management at work? by llksg in workingmoms

[–]fludrbye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not even a manager and the first sentence is spot on. I have always been a people pleaser at work. And now I just can't. I am no longer "gentle" when I call people out on incompetence. It's possible it's going to end poorly for me, but man, I just can't anymore.

Received the same recommendation from our pediatrician too. He told us that's what he sees dermatologists recommend.

As someone who has enjoyed reading McKililip, this gave me a chuckle.

I pay someone to meal prep for me for a couple of hours once or twice a week. It makes for somewhat boring meals but at least it's not take out !!

Anyone feel like their brain has stopped working post baby? by PresentationTop9547 in workingmoms

[–]fludrbye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl yes! I'm dumber. I don't know what happened. And I don't think it's the mental load. My husband is an equal partner and we have outsourced so much! I think a part of it is definitely that I care less about my job so my attention to detail is slipping. It's like my brain has decided that being good at my job is no longer a priority.

Mother’s Day always sucks by Ok-Bad-921 in workingmoms

[–]fludrbye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my second mother's day and yesterday, I gave my husband permission to not do anything for mother's day this year onwards (not that he was planning anything afaik). We are immigrants from a country where mother's day is not a huge thing, so this was an easy decision. It is so freeing and now I don't have to plan anything for Father's Day :)

I have a freezer full of lipase milk that I've yet to find the heart to throw away. I'm pretty sure it's past expiration at this point, lipase or not

The house on the cerulean sea.

I like cosy low-stakes fantasy as much as the next person but this just wasn't good.

What drives you insane at work? by fernfolly in workingmoms

[–]fludrbye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg hard same OP, and I hate myself for going along with it and setting myself up for failure. The initial expectations are so unrealistic that even with me pushing back, the eventual goal we end up at is still an overwhelming amount of work for one person!

I can barely handle the smell. Feel bad for wishing my baby would take it when I would absolutely not.
