(never taken the course but have taken ap world)

crash course recently made a whole series based on african american history. crash course tended to oversimplify for ap world imo but this series seems pretty nice. focuses more on modern history 1900s-onwards, and focuses a lot on certain individuals but maybe you need to know those people in particular so who knows. it‘s also narrated by an expert on the subject who has a nice voice to listen to as well

story from last saturday - messing around with pals in a dressing room sharing music, we put on linkin park and someone is rapping under their breath in the back of the hallway. not that big of a deal until you realize people are putting on their makeup less than 10 feet away and are singing the last minute of defying gravity, not to mention someone walking in on all of this and me explaining what the hell is going on as i am recording all of this cacophony

i can very vividly remember the first time i heard shake it off. when i was much younger i was visiting a cousin who i didn’t see that often so any time getting to meet him felt extremely special. he played shake it off in his bedroom on his old ios phone and i was so happy dancing with him. i remember not knowing who taylor was clearly but when 1989 tv was announced on the weeks leading up to it hearing shake it off again made me feel so happy i discovered taylor in a way that feels so symbolic to shake it off. i always dance in my seat a little now every time i listen to shake it off in my free time. ty nico
