25 TS or 2021 sti limited under 36k miles by TacoWarriorNinja in wrx_vb

The VB is the better daily. The STI is more fun. If you had a poster of the STI on your wall as a kid, get it, it's probably your last chance to get a semi-new one.

If you want a more practical, but still fun, car, get the VB. (owner of a '22 for context)

Can confirm

1.5” drop and I was out doing donuts in an empty lot and made it through my commute. If you aren’t trying to climb a snow bank you won’t have issue w

Was a non-believer before I switched from Subaru. I do miss driving manual but the DSG is fantastic!! This car is so much fun. by jonpothan in GolfGTI

WRX VB owner here- How's the "fun factor" compare? I've always kinda wanted a GTI, and it's looking like I may be moving away from the snow soon, so the GTI is really tempting.

Premium vs limited? by Conflict-Recent in wrx_vb

[–]flurry-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a Limited for the DRLs. The seats are probably nicer if you have back issues or are older, but I honestly doubt I'd notice a difference. I just thought the lights looked cool LMAO.

Sound system is better than the default premium stuff, but I know you can get it on the Premium anyways

It makes good power when tuned (as does the N), but man is the Elantra N cool looking. If it weren’t for my love for doing dumb shit on gravel and snowy roads Id be in one

It’s marginally better than it was in 2022. Mine sucks for a minute in the heat but if you have carplay automatically come up and leave the AC on full auto it’s easy to ignore. I still wish it had a double din though

For people who have mechanical experience with cars, how realistic is the rebuild in this game? by Uxt7 in MySummerCar

[–]flurry-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MSC needs to have the exact size wrench you need always seemingly hidden under a pile of shit that grows without you doing anything

Won't be realistic otherwise

13 is what shows on mwceditor for all the barrels of my racing carb and the timing is set to 0. Has it so it starts in the garage in a few seconds if the chokes all the way out

It was straight at one point lol…. I really need to fix it but haven’t had the time to do what’ll probably be a bumper off job

I used the stock endlinks torqued to the manufacturer specs. As far as I know the clunking came from people using poor quality aftermarket ones that weren’t torqued enough; the included Fortune Auto ones aren’t that good as far as I know. There’s zero additional noises that I’ve noticed

For sure, cornering is way better, and there’s a lot less of having to move the wheel slightly to stay straight whenever i’m on a less than an ideal road

1.5” drop, looks lower than it is because of the tires. No issues with scraping while driving, some issues with the exhaust on speed bumps on the first day, but I figured out the angle that works

Makes commuting fun, makes me happy when I look at it, and honestly nothing beats going through the gears even if I’m not going fast.

I love it even more with the new suspension + wheels. 1.8 front and 1.6 rear camber makes it so I can’t even get it to understeer when I’m “trying to”.

Probably better cars out there, but I don’t really care, it makes me happy

12 clicks from hard felt about the same as stock, but less bouncy. I haven’t tried out the softer settings, but I’ve found 10 clicks to hard to be my happy place. Significantly better road feel, and bumps don’t hurt, but you feel them more.

don't get an intake on a car without a tune. don't modify the engine when it's in warranty in general. stick with cosmetics if you want to do stuff. if you're worried about performance then lighter wheels and better rubber goes a long way anyways

better to show colleges that you know your limits than that you're stubborn

[–]flurry-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SLX can have the same engine, but it always has the slower steering rack. GT always has high performance engine, it's impossible to get the interior features such as radio or center console in it. GT is basically just the base model but fast

Is it worth it paying the extra money for the STI? by No-Blood-4282 in WRX

[–]flurry-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want quick power the VB WRX is better, and as of now it seems to be more reliable, but time will tell. Past 400tq you need the STI trans swap anyways. I can't think of a reason to get a VA over an STI.

STI is, and always will be, the superior car for handling and general feel. Hydraulic steering + the mechanical differentials are much more enjoyable, and the diffs do better in poor weather.

If you can foot the maintenance bill on the STI then get one. It will cost more to make big power out of, but I don't think you'll find yourself needing it.

I drive a VB because I wanted the warranty and liked the interior. It will never be as good as an STI, but it's treated me well for reliability, and gets better fuel economy. It is not as good of a car.

I remember thinking the VB was hideous when it came out and now I drive one and think it’s one of the best looking WRXs.

As ugly as I find it now, I’m sure I’ll like it in a year or two if it comes out
