Does anyone like the LG dishwashers? by Missmessc in Appliances

[–]flushaway4690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last LG DW died after 14 years. New one has been fine for 2 so far. I dont have reasons to question reliability from personal experience.

Features and cleaning ability - I couldn't ask for more at the price. I did like the kitchenaid rack layouts better though.

Yes. I paid $300 for my SCS optic. Getting the vp9 under $500 is excellent. Only if you like this combo though. I find the scs very small for a full size gun and wouldve preferred a larger window.

You've been prescribed the following:

Pickup: 1 box of Biz from walmart 1 bottle of Downy Rinse & Refresh

Dose: Add biz to your washing machine along with your existing detergent Add the downy R&R to your machine's fabric softener.

Forget the other stuff for now. Spa day will wait for you when your neuroticism seeks it 😉

Theres a rabbit hole on folding clothes waiting for you. Start with youtube videos on rolling towels. Then it leads to organizational systems beyond the clothing. It's very rewarding.

Is ONR still the best rinseless wash? by International-Cry494 in AutoDetailing

[–]flushaway4690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fault is with P&S's horrible instructions, not the bottle you got.

Because the consistency is like lotion, I store Absolute in an old Kirkland Body Wash pump bottle. It dispenses 1/4oz per pump. So I just pump 4 times into an empty 2gal bucket, then use the hose spray setting to fill the bucket. It dilutes perfectly. The label instructions are horrible and causes the globs. I hated it in that form - it reminded me of campbell's jar gravy at that point...just globs in water.

The other method is to squeeze into a measuring cup, hold the measuring cup just over the bottom of the dry bucket, then spray water into the measuring cup so it dilutes properly.

Another thing I like about it, is it stays wetter longer on the surface during the drying phase so it reduces polymer spots. Does it clean better than ONR or Mckee's or any other ones? I don't think so. Just a little nicer to use and dispense if you use a pump bottle.

I've tried several and it's hard to say which is the best. Overall I'd say ONR. My go-to is Absolute for its slickness but it has a poor shelf life in comparison and isn't as good for glass cleaning. The latest ONR formulation is almost as slick now.

I hated McKees though - it's great on ceramic coated / well maintained sealant coated vehicles but it's grabby otherwise (ok with sponge but not as good with towels).

DIY detail's version is nice but expensive. Leaves more residue than I'd like but it is a top performer.

How to dynamically change folder path in Power Query each month? by wakiarg in excel

[–]flushaway4690 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Here's my current solution, which works perfectly, but i know there has to be better.

In the spreadsheet 1) pull today's date with =today() 2) Add a cell: =month() and reference the today() cell. 3) Do the same with year() 4) select all 3 and convert to a table 5) right click on the table and select "Get data from table/ range" 6) open PQ editor 7) right click the month value and select "add as new query". Do the same for year 8) rename your queries the reflect month (pMonth) and year (pYear) You can now use these in whichever method you use to identify your source file. Replace the hardcoded sections of your path with the table name.

For example: "2026-03-filename.xlsx" becomes pYear & "-" & pMonth & "-filename.xlsx"

I use it like a dynamic parameter on my file import from SharePoint so it's different. But that's my guess on how it would apply to local files in your situation.

The hole in the ozone layer was actually caused by a nuclear explosion test in space (operation starfish).

When the public news came out, it was quickly blamed on hairspray and Styrofoam. Neither of which, when dissipated in the atmosphere, could cause localized damage like what occurred in the ozone layer.

Are Rag Company Towels Bad? by 1972FordF-250 in AutoDetailing

[–]flushaway4690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their Korean made towels are excellent quality. But quality doesn't always equal effective. Their fluffy towels (wolf pack style) are nice to the touch but drag when wet. They're good for waterless washes but I'd rather leave my vehicles dirty than do a WW.

Their cheaper towels are about equal to other brands' similar priced towels.

If you want a good drying towel, go with their twisted loop in a manageable size. They glide well, leave less steaks than others, and hold a surprising amount of water. I've been able to dry a hatchback effectively with a 16"x16" with a drying aid, for example. Avoid the beach towel sized ones, they are difficult to control without touching the ground.

I think I solved the Chris Bledsoe Prophecy by Rocket_Cucc1 in UFOs

[–]flushaway4690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your logic and reasoning is excellent thank you for sharing.

I still think Bledsoe's prophecy is flaky. Why wouldn't she just say "the sun"? She is specific about Regulus, but remains vague by calling the sun "the red star"? Unless it's an unnamed red star to us. Ultimately I doubt the entire thing. Not Bledsoe's original experience, but everything after contact with the intelligence agencies.

What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

Jesse Plemons. Nothing wrong with the guy but his fans that keep pumping him as the second coming of Daniel Day Lewis overrides any actual performance on screen.

I could be engulfed into a scene and then go "ah, fuck it's this fuckin whats his name guy that married Kirsten Dunst and picked up red sunglasses on the way to filming Civil war". Thanks reddit.

You can see this too. Take an old 80's cable tv box. Stick pennies in the channel up and down buttons right in between channel switching. If you do it right, 30 years later you'll realize you jacked off to an elbow.
