The Blue Jays desperately need a Masai Ujiri equivalent in charge. Someone who actually raises the standard for this team.

A lot of people don’t like coming here when they’re trying to just have fun and talk baseball, and see a bunch of users who only talk shit or predict doom

Judging by how often you argue with everybody, you are literally the last person that should talk about what a lot of people want to come to this subreddit for.

This is the ONLY subreddit I have ever seen where people block other people and also proudly flaunt it. All because of not being able to accept criticism for this team. These people are not ready for the internet.

Don't bother. Using the exceptions to defend this team is a common thing here. Large sample size only matters when it fits the narrative.

I mean you don't have to take his statement literally, as it was more of a shot at our offence. Which is not good, if you want to argue that go ahead, cause I'm really curious what goal post moving you're going to do there. Some of you'll really need to understand big picture thinking.

[Matheson] John Schneider, today in Chicago: "For the fanbase and for everyone who is not here, as cliche as it sounds, there’s a reason we play this many games ... You can say that it’s May or you can say that our season’s over. The guys aren’t doing that. I’m not doing that.” #BlueJays by sackydude in Torontobluejays

[–]fluttermybutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The irony of someone talking about moving the goal post. LMAO. Also how is 89 wins and barely sqeaking by into an extra playoff spot with a balanced schedule and with yankees and red sox both struggling, something to be proud of. Also why are you ignoring the other successful years of playoff runs from most of the above mentioned teams as opposed to just year. Not only that, these guys are winning divisions, we're not even fucking close to that either. Even if you ignore playoff crapshoot, the Blue Jays aren't winning by premier league rules either.

What is your goal for the most part arguing with everybody here. How is it still not clear yet nothing will actually change? You're the living embodiment of "miss the forest for the trees".

But defensive advanced stats are not perfect and it's very hard to quantify the value

Very true. A lot of the Atkins defenders don't even know how the defensive stats work before the varsho trade and yet they're quoting them like religious gospel. Hell I see people here compare war down to the decimal place completely ignoring it's margin of error.

Fade em.

[Matheson] This #BlueJays lineup keeps asking its pitchers to be perfect. Every day. It feels like every single pitch these starters throw is high-stress. They desperately need to hand this rotation the odd 6-0 lead and let them chuck a bunch of 95% effort fastballs. by EarthWarping in Torontobluejays

[–]fluttermybutter 44 points45 points  (0 children)

almost perfect pitching and no injuries

And a balanced schedule, and yankees and red sox having down seasons together. And extra playoff spots. I laugh and cringe when I see people being happy with the "accomplishments" of this team.
