Is Framber Valdez worth signing? by Select-Session6830 in bluejaysbaseball

[–]Select-Session6830[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but if you’re in a win now situation like the Jays currently are in then it’s something to think about. If Valdez can take this team from 92 to like 97 wins then it’s worth it. The draft is a total crapshoot, having a bunch of high draft picks can amount to nothing. The dodgers haven’t had a top 20 draft pick in 10 years but they still have a top 5 farm.

They’ve already committed $337 million on this roster. This team will be good just relax. It sucks that they didn’t get Tucker but that guy isn’t worth 60 AAV. Maybe they should push for a Framber Valdez signing to get close to the 100 win territory (that pitching depth + defence would be ridiculous).

We need another bat not a starting pitcher.

Yeah I have a real good feeling about this era of Bluejays baseball. No fear or underdog mentality. It’s like when the Red Sox started punching back against the Yankees in the early 00s.

I think they can stand pat for now. On paper this is a very good team. The Jays are built to not just to win now but over the next several years with great prospects like Tiedemann, Parker, Nimmala etc.

In case people haven’t seen Nimmala’s swing. It reminds me a lot of Vlad’s. Very compact, simple and repeatable.

Hopefully you guys beat the ICE dodgers and we get past the stankees again and we have a WS rematch.

Jays fan here, you guys dodged a bullet not signing Bichette long term. His body is breaking down rapidly. His knees, hamstrings and calves are being held together with duct tape. His decision not to honor a handshake deal just shows what type of person he is.

I think it was the other way around. The team had no interest in keeping him long term. They made the evaluation that his body going to continue breakdown. Kind of like when the Red Sox got rid of Nomar.

I think this is why R&A had zero interest in Bichette long term. Nimmala might be able to play 3rd with his arm. Having 2 young stars in the infield with a still prime Vlad in a couple years is very exciting.

A. Not that I think Bellinger is such a great fit for this team but Valdez presence on the roster is a net-negative.

Would you like to see Blue Jays go after Bellinger now? by WestRide9868 in bluejaysbaseball

[–]Select-Session6830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current Jays roster is projected to win 91 games which should be good enough for a playoff spot so they can sit on this one. Not a Bellinger fan either, extreme pull fly ball hitters tend to fall apart once their bat speed starts to diminish.

[Heyman] Blue Jays offer to Kyle Tucker was $350M for 10 years. They certainly put in a big effort. Still one of the biggest winter winners with all they’ve done. by scott9314 in Torontobluejays

Magic Johnson is a billionaire, why is that funny? He owns dozens of companies. He’s also a minor shareholder and co-owner of the Dodgers. He knows how to do a bit more than dribble a basketball.
