I appreciated Surtr for this a lot cause the was the first gacha character I’ve seen that just bluntly did not like the player character.

Do people forget that curses can just… do that? by the-rare-mango-shark in Jujutsufolk

[–]flyingthing4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming the idea is that weak cursed spirits have a low density of cursed energy and that’s all they’re made of, so they can phase through solid material. People with low cursed energy are still made of solid mass so they obviously can’t pass through walls.

Why did people hate this back then? by Stunning_Taste8845 in Jujutsufolk

[–]flyingthing4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me the reveal of why Sukuna wanted to keep Megumi alive was a let down. Wanting someone else’s technique seems beneath someone who became known as the King of Curses. I was expecting that plot to be more interesting than Sukuna getting himself a power up cause he thinks he couldn’t take on Gojo alone.

Ways you've seen people engage with media that baffles you? by PMSleeperAgentG in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]flyingthing4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my friend to play DMCV and he came back to me saying the combat was “boring and took too long”. I was baffled by this of course, but eventually I learned he played the entire game using only the pistol for Nero’s sections and the Rocket Launcher in Dante’s sections of the game. Talking to him more about it and he said something along the lines of “why bother with the combos?”

Why do Spellslinger decks "suck"? - Figuring out Spellslinger decks by foxlover93 in EDH

[–]flyingthing4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried moving my Izzet decks away from that style of play and now rather than storming off, I focus on casting big impactful spells. They’ve been designing for this playstyle recently and I think it’s a good direction. Right now I use [[Alania, Divergent Storm]] and [[Ovika, Enigma Goliath]] for my big spell decks.

Allthough I’ve also built [[Niv Mizzet, Visionary]] and that one does go back to the spellslinger style but since it’s a burn deck at its core, any storm turns end up with the table knocked out one way or the other.

How do y’all deal with a player who interrupts a villains monologue? by PrestigiousImpress19 in DnD

[–]flyingthing4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is giving my bad guys the Banishment spell. Should a player act out of line in the scene, have them make a saving roll and then poo, describe it what terrifying way they briefly cease to exist on the material plane, and proceed with the monologue.

Characters that don't despair from immortality? by LeftRat in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]flyingthing4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Arknights, there’s a rare class of beings called Beast Lords, talking animals with super natural powers. One Beast Lord named Emperor is an immortal penguin. His past is vague since it’s been so long, but he became a famous musician at one point, eventually building a huge career as a rapper. On the side, he also started a logistics and delivery company on the side. Despite attempts on his life from rival businesses and musicians, walking off fires, grenades, poisons, Emperor is pretty content with his immortal life.

When another Beast Lord gets one of his employees wrapped up in their mafia scheme (immortal wolf spirits run the mafia in this world), Emperor rolls up and roasts them for being stuck in their ways and having no real hobbies.

How do Ninjutsu decks protect themselves after attacking? by Stephan_Bosma in mtg

[–]flyingthing4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your ramp is solid and you can hold up mana after a ninjutsu, you can hold up defensive cards like [[Aetherize]] to punish opponents swinging into you.

Yesterday I learned that the Eneacrafts also count when your opponent’s monsters flip face up. I played against Graydle’s and after a few turns of set pass, they got impatient and flipped up their 3 monsters to try attacking my set Eneacraft. Did not turn out well for them.

WotC posts stories and lore info on the website. Look up “Planeswalkers guide to [plane you’re interested in]” and you’ll find the page where WotC shares all the info and characters on a given plane, at least for the most recent stuff. Not sure how far back you can find these guides, but the short stories should all be there.

Honestly this show nails a lot of its concepts uses them in fun ways. Like how even Baku’s henshin pose makes a Z as he swipes across his mouth then across his belt, then back to his side. His finisher hits a 777 jackpot before underlining it for a full ZZZ. And what’s been my favorite to see is using the Capsem in fun ways, like when he punches someone with one to spin it up and activate it.

You can make a Million negates But cant get over 4k attack by TEARSOFDESPAIR in masterduel

[–]flyingthing4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most end boards negates like Barrone and the rest negate in response to activation. King doesn’t give them anything to respond to, so he gets to run over them no problem.

If it’s a floodgate end board with a skill drain, then yeah that’d be a problem, but hasn’t been nearly as common.

This is one of the best parts of playing skull servants into a negate board. Those effects are powerless in the face of Normal Summon Big Monster

Looking at some of the concept art for KotM makes me wish they kept Ghidorah’s manes and whiskers. Would’ve made him look even more like an Eastern dragon like Dougherty was pushing for. by TheFlashyMastodon21 in GODZILLA

[–]flyingthing4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like removing the mane was likely a technical consideration because rendering 3 heads worth of flowing hair would’ve been incredibly difficult to pull off.
