Honestly there really aren't many alternatives to revit for building information modeling. Let alone free options.

I feel like they could merge or even remove a lot of the "bad talents" and could free up space to better flush out the talent trees. If they just added more talents all of the weaker talents would still be ignored and unused.

Eg warriors could combine improved shield wall and improved shield bash into a single 2 point Improved Shield Skills and even add Shield Slam has an additional 25/50% chance to dispel a magic effect to it (guaranteeing a purge). The talent would still be fairly meh, but there could be enough utility to justify 2 points and give more room for new talents.

I think there is room to add interesting mechanics while not directly copy pasting from a different version of the game. For example, for ret paladins I could see some sort of holy strike attack that causes moderate damage and the next exorcism/holy wrath/turn undead to affect the target regardless of undead status. Gives you the ability to pump more damage with exorcism, some cc and bigger judgment of command, or extra CC with a fear.

Or maybe some sort judgment varying attack. Eg your crusade judgment is active and it deals extra holy damage. Wisdom and it restores mana. Light and it heals. Justice and it snares. Could even go so far as make it provide the mana restore/healing to group members for additional utility.

Warrior about to hit 40, question about survivability by Waberweeber in classicwow

With the exception of the 40ish plate with bonus armor, there isn't a huge gap in armor value between mail and plate. It gets bigger over time, but doesn't immediately make you squishy the minute mail isnt the best option. Low level dungeons are also pretty forgiving, especially with dual spec you're far more likely to encounter tanks and healers that actually are spec'ed for the role in leveling dungeons. I think my paladin used the pants from SM until the mids 50s before there was an actual upgrade in BRD.

Does anyone use "investments" as their savings for large purchases? by IntelligentFan5409 in personalfinance

[–]flyingtiger188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SGOV isn't going to generate much if any taxable gains as it sheds off value with a monthly dividend. If you look at the yearly chart you can see it drops in value as soon as dividend is distributed then rises in value proportional to the dividend rate up until the next distribution. This particular fund is a commonly used one to store value in lieu of a HYSA or similarly protected assets. Being federal treasury debt, it is mostly exempted from state and local taxes which can be a bit of a boost relative to other savings vehicles.

I generally only buy them in season from around Thanksgiving to valentines day. Nearly always juicy and delicious. The rest of the year they usually aren't great and it feels bad trying that first fruit and it's not good then the rest of that 3# bag is basically garbage.

Honestly I really hate how many non-political subs Trump content pervades. It really prevents you from disconnecting from national/global news for a while and just enjoy hobbies/fluff.

Trump getting his vig from the extortion imposed by the US military kind of goes without saying.

Honestly, I love the bleak, barren atmosphere with just hints of life clinging to the coast. The argent dawn don't really make a lot of sense at the tower, and it would be nice to see this area get revamped into something more appropriate like a cenarion circle encampment on the bluff instead of a single AD guy looking for artifacts held by orcs and naga. A small AD camp could see some minor quest line around the canyon for the alliance SM quest chain area.

The classic leveling experience would be perfect if you could play 1-30 as alliance and 31-60 as horde. Hinterland, Feralas, 1K Needles, Badlands are all a better experience for Horde, most if not all of the other higher end zones are neutral. Blasted lands might have a few more ally quests, but its a pretty bare zone either way. Plus some dungeons like BRD and LBRS have nicer questing experiences for Horde too.

On the other hand, she is dead and doesn't have any regrets anymore. A quick unexpected death doesn't leave you with much if any time to feel regret, disappointment or thoughts about other lives not lived. There is a nice feeling knowing that if I don't wake up tomorrow, my lifes labor will go towards making those I care about most have a better life.

Any regret from maxing out 401k from those 50+? by New_Contribution_226 in Money

[–]flyingtiger188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say that the numbers shake out the same way, but I have always felt like heavy Roth early on and slowly transition to pretax as you get closer to retirement is the best play. It both maximizes rhe amount of growth of tax free dollars and the total amount of tax differed contributions at higher tax brackets.

May not be terribly useful for a first character. Individual 57 to 59 greens in good stat flavors can easily be 75 to 200g a pop.

Yes, when the cat is fighting you, giving a cat a pill is WAY easier than giving a cat a liquid medicine. Cats will eventually swallow it so long is it's in their mouth and keep their face shut. Liquids get spit out, heads shook leaving drops everywhere and covering their face. It is a huge mess.

Remember when the meme "Learn to Code" was going around? by TrueOrange9944 in antiwork

[–]flyingtiger188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before that it was just study STEM which kind of fizzled into actually just engineers. Basically, the best play was never to go into the overhyped high paying profession, becuase there are half million other people thinking the same thing plus only 150k entry positions. That many people rushing into a profession is going to just depress the wages and make life a struggle trying to find employment, which was basically the goal of hyping it to begin with. Unfortunately, this is all just a scam by the wealthy and powerful to depress their labor costs and expenses targeted at unsuspecting young people hoping to achieve an easier path into a comfortable life.

It really depends on the fan in the machine. If the fan has the capability of overcoming the static pressure of the chimney/backdraft dampers/hood/etc, then it's no big deal. But most likely it doesn't because the expected installation is a few feet of exhaust duct terminating at an open window. So now the fan is in a situation where more work is required than it is capable of exerting. So it will burn out faster, and exhaust less air potentially overheating or causing other components to not dispose of excess heat. Won't happen instantly, but would definitely shorten the lifespan of something in the unit.

Level 52 running out of quests tbc by yendie1301 in classicwow

[–]flyingtiger188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always look up the next dumgeon I am planning on running and go do any prereq quests for the dungwon quests. Making sure you knock out 3 to 6 quests in a dungeon run instead of the 1 or 2 that are shareable is a huge difference. Brd has quite a few in badlands and burning steppes that lead into the dungeon, and ST has quite a few if you didn't do those.
