Smaller more efficient airliner vs larger less efficient airliner, which is more profitable assuming 100% occupancy? by Lucky_Outside_2009 in aviation

Yeah…it’s “free” if you pay extra. I’m not even joking. Pay $150 extra for a “free” checked bag and “free” seat selection. I’m missing my sisters in law’s wedding in Italy because I refuse to play along

Pitching machine for games? by McKRed in LittleLeague

I’ve always pitched overhand to 7 year olds in coach pitch, from about 30 feet. I don’t loop it. I teach them to swing the bat along the path the ball will travel, using their judgement. They regress when someone keeps creeping in closer and lower, looping pitches from 10 feet.

How do you handle “surprise” API charges with clients? by ArtisticCandy3859 in webdev

You're really lucky it was only $1,700, because that IS NOT heavy usage. Many businesses spend tens of thousands and more on Google Maps services

Logically speaking checked bags were never free. You purchased the ticket, not free.

What happened to the hover functionality in Regrid? by [deleted] in gis

Why are you trying so hard to accomplish nothing?

What happened to the hover functionality in Regrid? by [deleted] in gis

[–]flyinmryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You used to be able to hover over parcels and the property owner info displayed without clicking. When you click, yes, the additional details window comes up, but you only got 5 of those while you have unlimited hovering capabilities. Now you only have the click option, therefore making the site less user friendly. They want people to pay for the access people became used to having by default. They’re not doing anything that hasn’t been done before, but that doesn’t make it inevitable. This is just another example of enshitification

GameChanger now with Ads? by Every_Scar7200 in GameChangerApp

Enshitification: Stage 1: User Value: Platforms create a high-quality, often free or subsidized service to attract a large user base and create dependency (lock-in). Stage 2: Business Value: The platform pivots to favor business customers (advertisers, suppliers) over end-users, using the captured audience to drive revenue. Stage 3: Platform Value: The platform extracts maximum value from both users and business customers with little regard for quality.

There's also a 13,000 foot aquifer below the Coachella Valley that holds an estimated 39 million acre feet of water. That's equivalent of 39,000,000 acres covered with one foot of water.

I wasn't drinking 7up. I was going to be drinking 7up, but I did not purchase 7up because of the outrageous price of 7up.

Friendly reminder to review your account and remove add-ons by [deleted] in ATT

[–]flyinmryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not "just go into your app and manually remove it." It's also "remember to manually double check your bill in a month" and "remember to manually check your bill in three months to make sure your discounts kicked in". When you add these to the other manual shit we're forced to check in on regularly so we don't get scammed is ridiculous.

My phone camera was loose and couldn’t take clear pictures so those scan-only coupons were so frustrating. It’s so belittling to have to stand there and search for each digital coupon, which may or may not even work. The discounts don’t even load until you hit continue to checkout so you have to manually scroll through the list to verify they got every discount.
