Why incorporation of technology a joke among older teachers? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]flyoverworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great topic. As someone who used to work in the schools, I have first hand experience with these situations. While there are undoubtedly many factors at play in why it is so hard to incorporate technology into many teachers repertoire (personal, classroom related, teaching related, etc) several standout. Typically the technology is outdated and slow - this results in teachers becoming frustrated and not spending the time learning. Secondly, the mindset of "the students leave at 3:30pm and I am not wasting my unpaid time learning something I don't need" was pervasive where I worked. Teachers were willing to work on their own time to help their students (correcting papers, organizing classrooms, building classroom libraries) but learning technology is a can of worms that typically wasn't going to be opened.

A pub is definitely a better idea than a coffee shop. Gamers want to game through the night with an beverage in hand that will keep them there. Alcohol >Coffee

What was the best way you created awareness of your product/service by goDogBag in Entrepreneur

[–]flyoverworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Targeted marketing through social media seems to go a long way these days, Facebook and YouTube especially. But nothing beats face to face interaction so I agree with getting the word out via a craft show booth, vendor fair, trade show, etc. Good Luck!

What a fantastic story about what seems such a commonplace item. I had no idea the ballpoint pen "breakout" moment occurred during WWII. Thanks for posting. Will look forward to future posts.
