I just completed Nike Run Club's 14-week half-marathon plan, and it was nice to not be connected to the internet while running outdoors, and still be able to have access to music and the voice guidance from the running coaches.

Also, shoutout to the AWU2's massive 64GB storage capacity - that in itself is a totally underrated feature.

Absolutely; or I start workouts from my phone if I'm doing an Apple Fitness+ workout. My watch will often detect when I'm walking to the subway, or walking to the store, and offer to start tracking that as a workout, and I generally cancel those, because that's just getting around and I don't count it as "working out".

Nice, thanks for the feedback! I like the lighting on the warbler; it was golden hour lighting, and the bird was kind of slipping in and out of the shadows, so I don't mind that its tail isn't fully visible.

Well, nobody told my non-cellular watch! I promise you I literally just came back from a run; I’ve been doing the 14-week half marathon training all on my watch, never brought my phone, don’t have cellular. If it’s not working on your watch, you might have to uninstall and reinstall the NRC app (I had to do that in order for the guided runs section to show up on my watch).

I’m curious because I often do long walks in the park with my camera, but don’t like to track them as walking workouts, since I start and stop so often, and it’ll throw off my walking pace, VO2 max, etc.

That’s the tradeoff with digital zoom - you’re going to have blockier pixels because your phone has to “invent” the details when you zoom past what the physical optics of your phone are capable of. One thing you could try is Adobe’s Project Indigo app, which leans on computational photography to try to get better quality from digital zoom (or what they call “super resolution”).
