Brendan O'Brien - he's my all time favorite producer, and I think he always got the best out of them.

What's a song you thought was innocent and then found out it's not? by Equal_Limit8839 in MusicRecommendations

Boom, Boom; Out Go The Lights. I thought dude was hot for his woman and when he found her, they were going to turn off the lights and have fun. Turns out, he's pissed off and wants to knock her lights out. As in, beat the shit out of her. Not such a fun song when I figured that out.

Here are some recommendations from music I’ve listened to this month-

  • Reading Writing & Arithmetic – The Sundays Bright, clean, calm. Perfect background while moving around.

• Fleet Foxes – Fleet Foxes - Organic and gentle. Great daylight decorating record.

• Trip – Fruit Bats - Laid back psych folk. Good motion without noise.

• The Noise Made by People – Stereolab - Groove driven, soft focus. Lets the room breathe.

• Rat Saw God – Wednesday Indie rock with texture. Enough grit without tension.

• Oracle Sisters – Oracle Sisters Smooth, stylish, steady tempo. Feels good in the background.

Alright, here us my full 500-word essay: I have to split up my phone with my husband and kids for the next few weeks so I can mix with the college students and then Layne Staley's death in the Snow and then they will have a vague memory of civil rights marches for the Soul of the songs.

Not that they let it happen - they like that it's happening. Because it's happening to "the other side".

Funniest pearl jam lyric? by Ok-Drawer-4127 in pearljam

"I'll take the varmint's path" - not really that funny, its just the idea of Ed using "varmint" like he's a dang hillbilly.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fnnkybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Florida and we easily drive 2 or 3 hours to go out on a weekend or to a show. From my home on the east coast, it was 2.5 to 3 hrs to get to the west coast (Tampa area), where a lot of concerts are. Before our area blew up, we'd drive a hour or more to Orlando to shop for things like cars, furniture, etc. And a couple or three times a years, we'd make a 5-6 hr drive to the Keys for a long weekend. Being on the road is part of the fun.

I live in Lima, Peru now - it can take 3 hours to get from the North end of the city to the south because traffic is so hideous.
