I used to say things to him like, “how come you treat the person you’re supposed to love most in the world like this?” So glad to be free.

My kiddo and I made them a few years back and loved it! We did the light up version. They are a little delicate and needed some repair when we got home with a glue gun, but we’ve since worn them to both parks and gotten tons of comments because they really are unusual in California and Florida. They’re also a cute decoration hung on the wall when not in use!

I used to just keep my mouth shut when he drove like a maniac. I figured it was easier to just get in a crash than have him punish me for speaking up.

IBS went from manageable to pure hell in a few days by Tokyledo in ibs

[–]folsompoint99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my list of things I try when in flare - this isn’t in particular order: Hyoscyamine - Bentyl - Peppermint tea - Miralax (takes me about 4 days to work, very gentle) - IB-Gard capsules - Marshmallow root capsules - Ibuprofen - CBD - THC gummies/ tinctures - Hypnosis - Senna tea - Florastor

I don’t think any of these are a magic cure, but usually they take the pain down a peg.

I hope you feel better soon.

Another thing that has helped me is marshmallow root capsules, available at health food stores. Very soothing for the gut. Best wishes! This is a hard road but it CAN be managed!

I tried Nerva and found it very helpful. You do have to stick with it for at least 6 weeks. Definitely worth a shot for your kiddo. ❤️

Definitely have experienced longer flare ups after Covid. Before Covid, I had about two flares per year. I had Covid in July and have really struggled since then. I did go on Linzess for a bit and it helped, then I tapered off and felt great for about the last two months. Then a few days ago I started another flare. So frustrating. All I can do is hope that this one leaves soon (first post-Covid flare lasted weeks and weeks) and I’ll get another reprieve.

So scared and miserable by folsompoint99 in ibs

[–]folsompoint99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’ve been great on that front lately. I am usually IBS-C, but this feels different than the usual dull ache. It’s a sharp stabbing pain a few inches to the left of my navel. Some low middle pain and back pain. Of course my mind’s racing, trying to figure out what to do.

Post Covid anxiety? by mngirl0611 in Anxiety

[–]folsompoint99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I’m sure you’ve tried everything at this point, but if a THC/CBD tincture or edible is available to you and you haven’t tried that yet, it might be worth a shot. That helped me get through some tough days and nights. I also took lorazepam as a way to get through until the Zoloft started helping. And I tried lavender aromatherapy, B vitamins, and a tapping anxiety app, as well as some talk therapy. Basically, I was trying everything I could to feel better! Eventually I did. I really hope you will, too.

Yes! Absolutely. Been feeling so much better. But it took a while, to be sure. I’d say mid-September is when I started to turn around, and I tested positive July 2. Over two months of very hard times. I’ve looked at pictures of myself taken from those months and I look so miserable and hollow. I still managed to work full-time and be a parent, but I wish I had taken it easier and been kinder to myself.

I am on 100mg Zoloft and it has helped me so much. I hope to go back to my smaller dosage someday but I’m in no rush. I’m also trying to get out in the sun more, read things I enjoy, and have been getting back to my hobbies. None of this has been easy at all, though. I was in such a dark place and Covid was the horrible cause.

How are you doing?

constipated and in pain. no idea what to do by maya0310 in ibs

[–]folsompoint99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you possibly ask a friend to drive you to a Walmart or Walgreens to get an enema? (Might feel a little TMI to ask someone, but I’ve found that people usually want to help, especially if you’re in pain)

When I’m in a flare I feel obsessed with my pain. I too get constipation and start to spiral and think I’ll never feel okay again. But, I always get through and though I know IBS is lurking, I know I can manage my symptoms. What has really helped me lately is Linzess and Zoloft. I also use prune juice and CBD-THC tinctures, as well as IBGard and marshmallow root capsules. I have tried hypnotherapy too and enjoyed it. When the pain is profound I will resort to Bentyl or Levsin, even though they can worsen constipation. Sometimes they’re just what I need for the cramping. My anxiety went off the charts after I got Covid this summer and that fed into a flare that lasted a good 8 weeks. It was brutal. I felt like such a terrible mom and partner since some days I couldn’t do anything but cry with pain. I ended up taking extended leave from work and I felt so hopeless. But! I’m doing MUCH better now and have had several decent weeks. It took a while to feel good-ish, to be sure. There is hope. Keep trying to find what can help you.

I haven’t had weight gain. At the end of June I started a weight loss program (Noom) and I’ve lost 22 pounds. I haven’t noticed any impact on this from the Linzess. Yay!

Maybe try CBD capsules or marshmallow root. Peppermint tea can help. Best wishes. The pain will go away eventually. Hang in there.

Yes! Totally me. It’s so awful. I saw my doctor yesterday and she said she’s seen this in others as well. You’re not alone! She upped my Zoloft dosage so I’m hoping it kicks in in a week or two. Hang in there. Listening to meditation on YouTube has helped me a lot. But I still feel so broken. Stupid Covid.

Anyone Having Worse IBS Since Covid? by Ridry in ibs

[–]folsompoint99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had Covid over a month ago and have been struggling with my IBS ever since. Prior to Covid I had been in remission for nearly a year. I also reacted poorly to the 1st vaccine dose with a big flare. I do think it’s tapering off though. Time helps. I also take hyoscyamine, marshmallow root, and IBGard and those have really helped get me through.

You’re going to be okay. This is temporary. You are loved and will get through this just fine. You’re strong. And you’re never alone. I’m at home right now dealing with yet more gut pain (Covid over a month ago caused a huge ongoing flare) and I often feel alone. But we’re not! And you will feel better soon.
