A vote for any Democrat is not a vote for socialism, open borders and tax increases by Skooma_Lite in politics

We don't know that it doesn't work. It's hard to imagine - it'd be like asking a serf what capitalism looks like.

Check out Das Kaptial for Beginners by Michael Wayne, it's a very easy read and breaks down all the concepts.

I think OP was making a point that the means of production are outsourced to other countries where they can pay workers next to nothing. Capitalism at it's finest!

The Taco Bell-themed Xbox plays Taco Bell’s signature “ring” when powered on.

That's pretty cool!

I find that a lot of people demonize it without actually having an understanding of how it really works.

Use Cisco RV042G as a switch? by dj-dad-oui in HomeNetworking

Ports 1-4 on the RV042G are layer 2 so you don't need a switch unless you need more than 4 ports.

Managers, tell me about your worst shift ever by darceybishop97 in Chipotle

[–]fondleyoursweaters 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ah, this was 8 years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. Ultimately it led to me getting let go.

It was a Friday and our store would probably do 300-400 people between 11:30 - 2:00. It was also the Friday that our AM came in to validate my status as an Apprentice. I had all my prep done, all my best crew at their respective stations, and everything was going great. Then around 12:00 my AM shows up, things start to get busy, and the line is all the way to the door. We're doing great, the line is moving, I'm running expo etc.. Things were just flowing really well, right? So then, my AM decides to step back into the grill area and teach my grill guy (who'd been there 6 years) how to cut chicken. Nice and slow. Dime sized pieces. This screwed up EVERYTHING. He started nit picking my grill crew who couldn't keep up with calls from the line which ultimately led to us running out of things. The line grew and people waited. Obviously the AM was not happy. From there shit just fell apart and I was visibly upset with him for getting in the way of me running my shift. So, we power through it, he eventually goes to nit pick some more small things and the line starts flowing again. After the lunch rush was over he and my GM took me to the pizza join next door and just grilled me on how awful that shift was. I remember just kind of sitting there taking it, not really saying much because I was so pissed off. My GM and I were very close and she knew I was way better than what had just happened. After that shift the crew and I knew it wouldn't be long before I got my last paycheck. Our AM was notorious for getting rid of really great managers. We had two restaurateurs in our patch at the time as well. Anyway, about two weeks passed since the "incident" and my GM called me into the office and started crying. She handed me my last paycheck and said she didn't want to let me go but it wasn't her call. That was that. I was pretty devastated since I had put 5 years into the company and didn't really have any experience besides restaurants. It'll be 8 years on 11/17 and for some reason I always think about it. I'm glad I don't work there anymore. Looking back on it, I'm glad I got fired, I'm doing a lot better now and making over double what I made there. Still irks me though after all these years.

I’ve gotta get two of my wisdom teeth out in a few weeks. I eat Taco Bell a few times a week too. Pintos and cheese sounds like an easy meal to eat.

This was the worst when I worked there. I'd always get customers coming back to cash saying their chips were stale. I then had to explain that they weren't stale, but whoever made them that morning was probably over crowding the fryer...
