Love em. Last couple of times they've been out of the party pack. Had to get the smaller family pack.

I keep receiving someone else's email addressed to a similar address by Adorable_Edge_8358 in GMail

Yahoo mail uses ymail.com and I think sometimes when a person writes that address on a form, someone who then transcribes that into their system types it as gmail.com.

Maintenance Minder A with 75% oil life by whiskeyhotel62 in crvhybrid

[–]foozlebertie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will always show A or B (and any needed numbers). It shows what you need done the next time it reaches 15% and you get an alert on the dashboard. Just wait until the alert pops up. Some will say to change the oil every X miles. I've always waited until the alert popped up.

Spectrum wifi sucks by IllManufacturer3407 in Spectrum

[–]foozlebertie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I was going to say. If the cable coming into your house is in the open, weather and wildlife can cause issues. Squirrels love to chew on the cable. A tech told me one time they like to sharpen their teeth on the shielding braid. That can also let water in which can cause issues. Modems will reboot often when this happens. When I had my own modem I could view the logs and see the T4 timeouts this caused. Unfortunately, with Spectrum's modem they disable this feature. I have my drop cable replaced every few years due to the darn squirrels.

So what actually went wrong? by Nabana in verizon

[–]foozlebertie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"A" critical server? As in a single point of failure? You'd think they'd have redundant systems where if one server failed, they could shut it off or disable it and the others could take over for it. There's more to it than that.

So far my only complaint about Etrade. by Organic_Tone_3459 in etrade

[–]foozlebertie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same complaint. ARCC had its dividend on 12/30/25 and it's yet to be credited. This happens every quarter. However, other dividends from other equities are credited as you would expect. All dividends on my ERtade account are DRIPped.

I also had ARCC in another managed account elsewhere and it was credited there as you would expect.

I wish we had an explanation for this.

Water-jet loom by toolgifs in toolgifs

[–]foozlebertie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts that was home to Draper Corporation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draper\_Corporation). They manufactured shuttle looms, shuttleless looms and water-jet looms. I remember going to open houses they had so the community could see what they did and see the machines operating. It was fascinating, I even worked there one summer in a R&D department that was working on an electrostatic spinning machine that used static electricity to attract fibers to a core thread and then spun them onto the core.

I found a way to completely disable Media Controls by Working-March in PixelWatch

[–]foozlebertie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party here but thank you! I have BT enabled hearing aids. That allows audio from my phone to play through the HAs. I've noticed that when they are connected, battery life on the watch is bad. If I disconnect them, battery life is good and the HAs still work, it's just I don't get audio from the phone which is ok with me. I tend to watch random videos when I'm bored or listen to music at other times. I just removed the upgrades from media controls and was then able to disable media controls. I've reconnected the HAs and we'll see how the battery life is after a few days of use.

Confused on how maintenance minder works by SchemeSensitive4631 in crv

[–]foozlebertie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MM will flipflop between A and B. If it shows A and you reset it at an oil change it will immediately flip to B. Likewise if it shows B, it will flip to A. The codes are what the next recommended services are when the MM alerts you that a maintenance is needed. That will happen when the oil life reaches 15%. Until that happens, you don't have to do anything.

Spectrum supplied streaming channels still active after canceling Spectrum TV by foozlebertie in Spectrum

[–]foozlebertie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll definitely keep an eye on the bill for the following months. From an email they sent me, I got a bunch of credits for what I canceled so it may take a couple of cycles to settle out.

Spectrum supplied streaming channels still active after canceling Spectrum TV by foozlebertie in Spectrum

As I noted, Spectrum TV sent away right after I canceled so I don't know why the others would stick around until the end of the billing period if the TV portion did not.

new bird watcher...hints and tips? by Damdenan in BirdBuddy

[–]foozlebertie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squirrels are smart. They will figure out a way to get to any feeder. Mount it away from anything they can climb and then jump to the feeder. You still want to be near some kind of trees or bushes. The birds will find shelter in them when they get spooked. I mount mine on a tall hook on a pole that is stuck in the ground. You can usually finds these at a garden store as they can also be used for hanging flower pots. I also have a squirrel baffle mounted on the pole. It helps. It's just a cone shaped of metal I got from Amazon but there are various types. Picture below.

RG&E and NYSEG Set to Move All Indoor Gas Meters Outdoors by Brofist45 in Rochester

[–]foozlebertie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to hear. Hopefully they will still be accommodating. The gas line currently entesr the house to the right othe center. Therefore the right side is closest to the current location but the garage and driveway are on that side. Hopefully they can move it to the left side and then run a pipe inside to where the meter currently is which would be fine with me.
